I watched the segment. I really liked the piece about drafting more good ol’ Western Canadian boys instead of all of those dirty Quebecois.

I knew what was coming but just had to click.

This is an April fools prank right?

    Right???

  4. NelloMC

Im hearing CSEC is also reorganizing the arena deal so that they’ll pay for the whole thing! What a day for Calgary sports.

You can’t fool me. I know that’s the blurred face of ‘89 Stanley Cup Champ Rick Wamsley as the thumbnail.

i don’t think it’s a bad play, keep him away from the players and the room sure

but i for one miss Sutter D, D-Zone coverage has been soul eating to watch this year… Imagine if we had the D performance of last year, mixed with the Marky of this year…

edit: listen i get why people are deterred from the idea of him coming back but listen

    – he came out of retirement to win __us, the Calgary Flames__ a stanley cup. not the highest paying team, not the best team, the fucking Calgary Flames

    – i’m 25, Sutter is the coach that brought me into hockey, and took us to the Final. and he was the coach that brought us the closest to (team wise, results were sad) the 2nd time in my Flames life

    – __AGAIN__ this MF came out of retirement __FOR US, THE PEASANTS WHO ENDEARED MID ASS HOCKEY FOR A DEACDE__ only to have a glimpse of what could’ve been

    I mean it makes sense

Sutter would never give us up.

Sutter would never let us down

Sutter would never run around and desert us.

Sutter would never make us cry.

    Sutter would never say goodbye.

Sutter would never tell a lie and hurt you.

Personally, the only title I’d be comfortable giving him is consultant. The animosity of the players towards him still needs to be considered. If the players are fine with it, I’m all for it.

I’ve been bamboozled so much today damn

  10. Not going to click whatever link is posted here cause I’m 100% positive this is just an April fools “joke”.

Lol of fucking course. Listen I like Darryl as much as the next flames fan but he absolutely deserved to be fired after last season and he was an absolutely terrible GM for the Flames and probably shouldn’t be in the front office.

Also there were a lot of reports about how him and Brad clashed last year, I can’t really see Darryl taking orders from anyone, he seems like a my way or the highway type of guy

He’s in the walls… *pick up rifles* HE’S IN THE GODDAMN WALLS

  13. ProphetOfScorch

this ain’t that big a deal tbh

I’d also point out Sutter was 100% correct about Phillips when basically this entire sub and the flames media were completely wrong. He does know prospects at least at the pro level

While I 100% agree that his time in that room had run its course and Huska is the guy for the job right now, you can’t deny Sutter was a very good coach during his time. I think he could be very valuable to the organization in the right role. Obviously, let Connie cook and don’t let him take over GMing, though.

Edit: Also, imagine Sutter and Iggy going on roadtrips to watch/scout WHL and AHL games in western Canada. Then, imagine Brendan Parker tags along and forces them to film segments for FlamesTV.

Assistant President of Hockey Ops? No, Assistant TO the President of Hockey Ops. Bring in Dwight Schrute, get some bears playing the game right.
