Lundi soir, les Penguins de Pittsburgh se sont rendus au nord de la frontière pour affronter les Maple Leafs de Toronto. Dès le début de la 1ère période, les deux équipes semblaient fortes. Le rythme rapide du hockey a conduit à un élan en faveur des Penguins. Evgeni Malkin a récupéré la rondelle et Toronto l’a envahi. Malkin a distribué la rondelle à Ricard Rakell dans l’enclave. Récupérant la passe avec ses pieds alors qu’il dérivait vers le point, Rakell a effectué un 360 et a lancé une fusée sur le filet pour marquer son 200e but en carrière. Les Penguins détenaient une avance de 1-0 jusqu’au milieu de la 2e période. Matthew Knies a égalisé le match en décochant un tir dans le filet. Auston Matthews a brisé l’égalité en 3e avec un énorme tir frappé à partir de la pointe trois secondes après le début du penalty du Penguin. Plus déterminé maintenant, Pittsburgh a commencé à faire vibrer Toronto et à générer des occasions de qualité. Sidney Crosby a passé la rondelle au PO Joseph à ce moment-là. En marchant sur la ligne bleue, Joseph a décoché un tir au but. La rondelle s’est échappée derrière le gardien de but alors que Drew O’Connor attendait pour la marquer, égalisant le match à sept minutes de la fin. Des heures supplémentaires ont été nécessaires pour déterminer le vainqueur. Jake McCabe a marqué pour les Maple Leafs vers la fin de la prolongation pour leur donner la victoire 3-2. OC and eller both had a chance to change in OT. They were on their blue line go for the change. I'd rather be a step behind with the 3rd man and have a fresh anyone (sid was on the boards) then having 3 dead tired bodies.
Hard fought point vs one of the best teams. Red Wings next game. Bunting seems to have brought Malkin and Rackell back to life with chemistry and playoff intensity.
Even though a win would have been nice, this was SUCH a war to just get 1 point. You never know. That 1 point could be the point that gets the Pens into the playoffs.

It's a point! Ned gave up a soft goal in ot though! I'll take the point though and move on to red wings. A must win game. Pens need points in all the remaining games
