It's awesome to see the progression of the team. Let's go get that playoff spot!
Sid scored a Michigan in junior
Old habits die hard . Tying up a game and losing in OT seems the norm for this team .
My question to you is, as professionals what took so long for this attitude and "drive" to happen?
It's really nice to see bunting aggressive net front presence rub off. Doc has been parking his body there lately, helped on the poj goal the other night as did he on letangs. Then he gets rewarded last night with a goal in the paint. I am not sure why it took so long for the team to adopt, but man, they have been busy around the net lately and it's paid off.
I hated the Pens didn’t get 2 points but I’m happy they at least got 1. These last 4 games are gonna be a roller coaster. Is it 88,90, or 92 points that’s gonna make the difference?
Maybe if they PRACTICED 3-on-3, they’d do better in OT?
Maybe?
Just maybe?
🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
DK, next time you see Sully why don’t you ask him WHY they don’t practice 3-on-3?????
Were sooooo bad at 3 vs 3. 2 wide open looks 4 Toronto and 1 was gwg. But the boys played hard
So stupid not to go with 71 and 8 in OT
Kiss of death: DK saying the Penguins are better than the opponent.
It's real simple… The PP and 3on3 suck because of aging and degrading talent. Experience and pedigree are worthless without young legs and talent.
Maybe they should have taken the rest of the season more seriously?
What a horrible decision by sully in OT
They can still miss even if they win every game….teams need to lose ahead of them.
I agree, I think the Power Play was great last night
It's so frustrating that this is a team capable of winning a cup with a power play that is just mediocre and the players and coaches can't figure it out.
Agreed 3 on 3 is when their age shows the most and the open ice makes the difference and allows for creativity. They struggle to keep up with the pace of the 3 on 3 and you are spot on its just a different type of hockey they clearly struggle with. Good news is if they make playoffs i think 3 on 3 goes away and its just straight sudden death 5 on 5. The pens are a really good 5 on 5 team and generally playoff hockey is more 5 on 5. Dont get me wrong powerplay goals can make all the difference still in the playoffs. Redwings is gonna be massive if they lose i assume the run will be over.
Yeah as if the Pens and 87 and 71 have no experience in OT/shootouts.
must wins are detroit and isles, if we get 4/6 points on the leafs, preds, and bruins then I think we make it
The abysmal PP is and will continue to be an anchor to progression. What the hell is the problem?! This should be fixable with the talent on hand. Enough excuses!
Aquiring Bunting changed the entire team. Guentzel is of course a better player but the Pens became a better team already in the now.
Die hard Steelers fan…but I'm a die hard Leafs fan
Sorry aboot that eh!
That was a good game last night
I just think the 3-on-3 is where the Pens age really rears its ugly head. When they are on their game, they hunt in packs defensively at 5-on-5, then grind out possession in the other team's zone … but they aren't very good in clear, open ice one-on-one situations. And that includes their better defensemen like Letang and Karlsson. Even Crosby is a league worst -5 at 3-on-3 this season (along with the Kraken's Larsson). Their lineup just isn't constructed for 3-on-3 hockey.
Still so upset about OT….needed that extra point especially with Detroit having a game in hand. These last 4 are must win games!! Big dawgs need to carry us, cause I know ned is getting a little fatigued.
We will take the one precious point. Not sure about those refs. There was a high stick that came with the puck in the face. Sid was a beast!
DK thank you for your daily shots. Very honest and enjoyable to listen to. I hope you enjoyed my city of Toronto.
They are playing "mostly" the right way, so they should squeak in. But if they don't, the No. 1 reason that even supersedes their terrible OT play, will still be the power play that's now clicking at a pathetic 10% over the past 50 opportunities. It won't be their defense, it won't be their goaltending and it really won't be anything they do 5 on 5, as their even strength numbers are actually fairly good. Nope, it will be their power play, the one thing I said would be the only reason they'd fail to make the postseason, weeks before the season started.
They have to beat the Islanders and Red Wings, and hope for some losses by the Caps, Wings and Islanders. And no overtime between Red Wings and Caps tonight. Pens have a tough game against Bruins too
Just curious do you think they are kind of like the panthers were last year?
