Clean hit. HORRIBLE outcome. That games gonna get ugly.😬

  2. I hate seeing players injured like this. Hope he’s OK.

  3. Honeybee-18

Hope we get an update saying he is ok.

  4. brewre_26

Hate seeing players get injured like this and people start fighting practically over the top of him.

  5. re10pect

Vicious is doing a lot of work here. That’s a real shitty outcome, but a pretty standard play. Jenson was just off balance and took a bad spill.

Hate to see a guy seriously hurt, but hockey is a rough game and this shit will happen from time to time.

  6. Tough hit and an unfortunate outcome but I don’t think this is dirty. It’s 1 Mississippi after the pass in slow motion and to his front side.

  7. SamuraiZucchini

Glad Ovi and other Caps got in front to keep the scrum away while he was down. Hope he’s ok.

  8. SwiftDray

Hate it when players have a pissing contest right next to an injured player on the ice. Drag yourselves away or save it for after the next face-off.

  9. Blind_Owl_Speaks21

Why do these idiots always congregate around the guy who’s knocked out or injured on the ice…? Happens far too often.

  10. LeftyTwoGun

Damn, that’s tough to watch. Prayers that he’s alright

  11. em-weech

Damn, it’s scary to see injuries like this. I hope the recovery will be swift.

  12. The_Dale_Hunters

That’s hard to watch. Wishing him the best.

  13. brooks_77

Dude, the look in Dowd’s eyes when he went and got revenge was scary. Dowd wasn’t fucking around

  14. Itchy_Employer_164

If Wilson did that the Capitals wouldn’t have a problem with it.

  15. MetalXHorse

Clean play, unfortunate result. All the best 🙏🏼

  16. If your upset about the contact then you might as well ask them to remove all hitting from the NHL.

Horrible outcome no ill intent… just a risky sport.

  17. Ballsahoy72

Not vicious just unfortunate how he went into the boards

  18. 2WeekDopeTurds

The hit wasn’t even bad, it’s how he hit the boards which is the bad part!

  19. InternationalPost447

Pretty funny to see how many people are still arguing after the review 😅. Maybe we need to start booting people who don’t know the game, too much useless arguing.

  20. DocPsycho1

Holy fuck …mmmmm did his helmet leave a mark on the halfwall?

In the replay you see his shoulder hit first but does not slow him head from snapping into the wall. Fuck glad I’m reading from others he is awake and moving a what is safe.

  21. niceisbriss

Remind me when Subban exploded Larsson, hope he’s alright that is scary!!

  22. starwestsky

Ooof that’s rough. Hopefully way better than it looks.

  23. mew5175_TheSecond

I feel like over the years there’s been a lot of talk about the helmets in the NFL but curious about the helmets in hockey. They have LOOKED the same for decades but curious about what has changed structurally.

I feel like there can be more protection in there.

  24. IllIllllIIIIlIlIlIlI

Yeah that’s about as bad as it gets for hitting your head on the boards.

I was hit like this in college and had to be stretchered off the ice. Don’t remember the third period. One second I was in the lockerroom for intermission then I woke up on the ice

  25. jdwainright

I haven’t watched hockey in over 10 years, but I’m hoping someone can help me out.

This appears to be a legal and pretty routine hit right? It’s just that he unfortunately smashed into the boards while falling down? Or am I completely off base? Thanks.

  26. ColdTiny

Rule 41 – Boarding 41.1 Boarding – A boarding penalty shall be imposed on any player who checks or pushes a defenseless opponent in such a manner that causes the opponent to hit or impact the boards violently or dangerously. The severity of the penalty, based upon the impact with the boards, shall be at the discretion of the Referee.

Just so people have the rule readily available. This is from the 23-24 NHL rule book on page 73.

  27. DoubleualtG

Scary. Good on both clubs making sure the most important thing was protecting him and calling off the scrum.

  28. Odd_Gene_2598

Isles fan here hoping all is ok and he makes it back on the ice soon!

  29. NwonUno

There needs to be better helmets out there.

  30. InfallibleBackstairs

Not a penalty? Fucking joke. Hope you’re OK Nick.

  31. Dry_Affect_999

Any update on Nick Jensen? Hope that he is ok.

  32. VonD0OM

Fuck that looks scary, hoping he’s okay.

  33. VonD0OM

Love seeing Ovi go over to make sure the scrum didn’t come over top of Jensen.

  34. NoPro23

It’s not a vicious hit. Very unfortunate absolutely. But the Tampa player is clearly thinking of putting the Washington player down on his butt. But if you’ve actually played the game you know how fast it is and how unpredictable it can be

  35. xtzferocity

    Just be okay.

Somehow Kadri was suspended for this hit.

  36. Pasco08

Anyone who thinks this is dirty or boarding doesn’t know the game and or rules. It’s a clean hit with an unfortunate outcome.

  37. krakatoa83

Calling that vicious is a bit much

  38. dwstupidity

He just got moved to the boards, not really a hit and certainly not vicious.
