Flyers are one of many teams that needed to cut down on OTL's. The loser point is stupid to begin with, but if they'd "only" had 8 OTL's (still somewhat above the league average), that's 3 more points, they'd be in. It's also kind of a joke that two teams with 15 and 16 OTL's like Boston and the Islanders are as high as 2 and 3 divisional seeds. League needs to move to a 3 PT regulation win, 2 point OT win, 1 point OTL system or just bring back ties. I know that's not s3xy enough for most fans, but if you played a 10 minute 3 on 3 OT, you wouldn't have more than 2 or 3 ties a year.
2-8 last year final 10…..back to back years. Lost 12 of 17 down the stretch! Atta boy all the way around!
Nice job this year with this team Coach. You had a lot of crap to deal with out of the norm. A lot to learn yourself and then to keep your guys fighting to the end . Walk tall and be proud of yourself and the guys . Better days are ahead.

Well this was my first Flyers game in Philadelphia to see my Flyers team and we lost. I have been a fan for 52 yrs and after finally to get to be here was by far exciting for me. Became a fan before they ever won the Stanley Cup. Young goalies and some young players still have a ways to go. They did better than was expected of them. My wife and i will be back since she is from Philly. Wells Fargo is really nice Fans were great. Go Flyers there is always next year to be better.

This team is relevant because the rest of the metro sucked. Once the Islanders and Pittsburgh and Washington found their game it just goes to show that the flyers are and will always be. Terrible.
As an Isles fan, I think the Flyers and the Canes are about the only team I respect in the division. You guys historically have a good culture of hard working physcial tough-to-play-against hockey, die-hard fans, a disdain for the Rangers and the Pens. Lot to look forward to as Flyers fans, really promising season overall.

So proud of this team. They are on the right track. They finally played meaningful games and they will now be motivated to be better than this year. Cheers from Edmonton and look forward to seeing the Flyers on the ice again and in the playoffs!
Someone has to explain why a line of Frost. Brink and Atkinson makes sense in this game. Tortorella has done a good job and the Flyers were not expected to do this well for sure. But let’s be honest over the past 20 games they have not been good. He keeps shuffling the line up – including some weird combinations like tonight. Benched Coots 4:14 who was tonight #1 center iceman. I don’t think he is the long term answer as the Flyers roster improves.
I’m not a Flyers fan and I think Torts is a great coach!
