@Flyers de Philadelphie

« Merci Philly » 🙃

John Tortorella et Alex Ovechkin parlent de la mesure stratégique prise par les Flyers de Philadelphie en retirant le gardien de but lors d’un match nul, même si cela s’est avéré futile. 1. Ref really blew that no goal call. Philly pulling their goalie practically gave caps that playoff spot. Pulling a goalie and scoring rarely happens, and flyers were in such a position that was heavily against them regardless if they won. The fact that Detroit won and he knew they tied it already hindered their spot in a playoff. I really don't understand the reason to pull a goalie these days with how well teams play.

  2. Fire Gary Bettmen 2 good teams playing in the first round should not happen
    Where is the reward finishing high in the standings just to get knocked out in first round
    Fire gary bettmen

  3. I'm a Penguins fan, but I can see why they did it. Philadelphia had to win in regulation to have a chance at winning the wild card. I don't think they were out to get the penguins at all. Their coach is very smart.

  4. It’s really sad that for as hard as the Flyers played for Torts this year, unfortunately he is his own worst enemy…. the beginning of the end for them was healthy scratching the Captain…and what is more, why did Torts go to management and say its time to give him the C and then scratch him a month and a bit later

  5. As a Detroit fan, I understand and appreciate that Philly wanted to win the game regardless. But once it was known that the Detroit game went to overtime, why would it still matter to Philly to win specifically in regulation? It made no difference anymore from a Philadelphia playoff perspective. By keeping their goalie in and going to overtime if necessary, the Flyers would have had a better chance of winning the game in some fashion.

    Yes, I have some self-interest in saying so, but I do believe that this would have been my mindset too if the roles had been reversed.

  6. Typical anti-Flyers fans aka everyone will only take this one play as what the entire season was for an overlooked rebuilding team that was basically expected to go 0-82

  7. Telling you right now if Torts knew they were out and the Wings would be out if the Caps won the goalie wouldn't have been pulled 😂 he would've played his checking lines to hit and block shots to keep the Caps from winning in regulation or at all

  8. Philly was NOT eliminated because of an empty net goal – They were eliminated because they LOST 14 of their final 21 games !

  9. Torts knew exactly what he was doing. Killed Detroit and Pittsburgh it one move… Ovi will send him a thank you car…

  10. coach John T. You did an awesome job with the Flyers…you took a losing team and made them winners. I look forward to the growth in the coming years. Thank you.
