  1. I'm glad for him, he goes back to where it all started for him, They are also a young team with their window of opportunity opening now. He could make them a formidable team in the coming years. Even though I like him, his time in New Jersey was at an end. He lost his ability to motivate the Devils and I blame him for the misuse of Timo Meier all season. All that said I wish him well and will cheer him when he returns to New Jersey

  2. Firing Lindy really wasn't necessary, as it turns out. I mean, the team's record was no better after he was fired. Probably worse. The exact same problems were still there. And the brainless frothy-mouthed trolls blaming Ruff and calling for his head transitioned seamlessly into blaming Fitz and calling for Fitz's head.

  3. I can’t wait for your opinions on who would be a good fit for NJ. I don’t blame Ruff for bad goaltending. That’s a GM problem. I wish Ruff the best in Buffalo.

  4. Ruff had to go. Andrew brunette should have been our coach his season. My hope was ruff planned to retire after 2023 and brunette was hired to take over. Now look at us

  5. Lindy got a bad hand this year and got no help from upper management. I hope he does good over in buffalo. He wasn’t perfect and he wasn’t the real issue.

  6. My coach picks: Mike Keenan and Torts. Head and assistant and I don’t care what order, lol😂
My nephew keeps bringing up Craig Berube.

  7. Lindy Ruff is the worst. Pardon me, 2nd worst. Scroll that website you showed of all time wins and show us the losses. Ruff is #2 for losses….sub .500 coach. Good riddance, now we don't have to worry about Buffalo anymore.

  8. Sabres fan here , Happy to see Lindy back . Not just because of his history but because we need a Coach that can push our players and they need accountability.

  9. #NEWS: Buffalo Sabres Head Coach Lindy Ruff making sweeping changes immediately after his signing, and has decided to bench New Jersey Devils F Alexander Holtz for the 2024-2025 season.

  10. As a Sabres fan that grew up watching Lindy its something else seeing him back. Never thought Id click on a NJ yt channel lol.

  11. I agree. I think Ruff is a good coach. I think he developed our young talent well, and that playoff run last year….was AMAZING. That being said, he did not hold any players accountable this season. He showed no heart whatsoever. I firmly believe if the Lindy Ruff that was behind the bench during the 2007 Sabres/Senators brawl (you should watch that video. GREAT old time hockey) was present this season, we would have made the playoffs this year. But that Ruff is gone. He was insanely soft. He had to go. I hope he does well in Buffalo. We need a hard nosed coach. I would like to see Torts, but thats not realistic. Maybe give Kevin Dineen a shot. Would not take much to bring him up…and hes already in the organization.

  12. I tend to disagree here a bit. Lindy was a fairly significant factor for our crap season. Look how long it took him to make any tangible adjustments to the system. Also his choice of lines and placing Timo on bottom lines?! He was off base and panicked too much during our stretch of back to back injuries. He can take Greene along with him!

  13. As a Sabres fan, I can't lie; I'm nervous. Lindy was a good coach, but with the pressure of winning now, I wonder if he has the patience to put up with the fans needing a play-off visit. Our team is not conditioned to the grind of winning with discipline and full ice-checking. Watching playoff hockey now is different from Sabres hockey.

  14. Correction. Hasek is the Greatest of All Time when talking goalies. Unlike Brodeur he never had a good team in front of him yet he carried them to unreal heights. Had he ever had a team in front of him Sabres would have multiple Stanley Cup banners hanging in the rafters.

  15. I’m a Sabres fan but When it comes to Lindy, I always liked him but I feel this move wasn’t just because they wanted to win or anything like that but it’s simply because the front office has no originality and only brought back Lindy for fan service. They didn’t even bother interviewing other candidates and just specifically hired him cause convenience

  16. The Holtz and Hughes interviews really showed that the Devils didnt buy it. God speed from Sabres land that the fans who know and want his style of coaching get the players to buy in. Good luck on ya'll. Hope we can both compete well..

I'm a bit nervous from what you mention on players in their positions. We're only working with so much here!

  17. Lindy this year was a broken window in a burning house. He wasn't the problem but he was one of the problems. I'll always rememever Ruff for last year's playoff victory against the Rangers, and coaching the stadium series win. That being said, Ruff's silence on the bench was infuriating, eventuality leading to him losing the bench. His decision making was questionable ar best. The Devils need a vocal, smart, semi-disciplinarian type coach next season.

  18. Sabres fan, good insight , I myself am skeptical, I loved what he did in Buffalo when he had good teams they won games and he developed players but i’m not sure he’s the best fit for this team either I think this could be short term , I also think this was a move to win the fans back , Buffalo usually attracts big crowds but that building has been empty past few years
