I agree on the playing down a bit which was annoying. This game should have been 5-1 and arguably a shutout. But the rangers defense bullied the caps all game long. Which was nice to watch.
The REMPE hit was my favorite part along with the SHG.

it was full blown to the head. i dont think its his fault or intentional, its just his size puts his shoulders in line with most players heads. so when the guard is down, like van riemsdyk's was, he runs straight into their head. a penalty, probably not, it was more van riemsdyk's fault not being ready, but what do you do? ignore hits to the head? hindsight is always 20/20.
i cant believe they called that a penalty. theyre going to call one everytime he touches someone.
They just need a quick series, even 5 games. Those 7 game series were our downfall 2 years ago against TB. But at this point just close out Washington and get rested for Carolina, who should finish off the Asslanders.

I'm thinking Vegas vs Florida again in the final. Obvious pick, I know. As a NJD fan I watched my team struggle with the "how to win" learning curve this year. For example, they often beat good teams and lost to bad teams. They have a long road. Vegas and Florida are veteran teams, built for this, and they have figured out what it takes.

Carolina has been doing the same thing when it comes to playing down to their competition. The Rangers are a better team than the Hurricanes. Washington is complete trash, and this series was a free pass to the second round for NY. The next series against Carolina will be much better, but the Rangers should still be able to take care of them
