The Islanders, even though it’s very very unlikely, they still have a chance to do the improbable. It is happened before and believe it or not. The islanders were actually a team to come back 3-0 back in the 70s against Pittsburgh yes it’s very very unlikely but like a wisemen said it’s not over til it’s over

Canes fan and this is why I never believe any comments saying they'll sweep after the 3rd win. Even now there's a lot of "don't worry, we'll get them at home." This is the playoffs and crazy things happen, which is why the playoffs are so great. If the Islanders win the next game, it will ensure another game at NY. This is totally not over.

Wish we had the sweep but hopefully we can win game 5. If the Islanders win game 5 then they actually have a chance to reverse sweep.

The islanders won in large part because the refs stopped calling penalties. Obviously the canes are the better team and they should win this series. But I've never seen a team dive for penalties like the canes have in this series. The game plan is clear, dive whenever possible because they struggle to score 5 on 5. Wish refs would have the balls to call embellishment penalties in the playoffs.
Some may hate to admit it or see it, but this series has been closer than some may believe. Either team could have won any of the 1st 3 games.
Game 1: The Islanders overall were the better team, but they could not capitalize on their chances, especially when Freddie looked shaky early on. Canes took advantage and won.
Game 2: Completely the opposite. Carolina was definitely the better team, but despite that, the Islanders took advantage of their chances and went up 3-0. Of course they could not hold it and had a monumental collapse, but were only a few minutes away from winning that game.
Game 3: Pretty even game overall. While down 1,, the Islanders had several chances and Freddie made some huge saves. There have been stretches in this series where Anderson has saved the Canes. I feel if Varly starts game 3, the Isles win.
Game 4: Pretty even as well. Islanders showed a lot of heart and found a way to win.
All 4 games have essentially been 1 goal games. Carolina is no doubt the more talented team, but when the Islanders have found their game, they have caused the Canes fits. They just have not been able to do it consistently.
