Hiring Reeves and Domi to be your goons means two guys on this team have the beans to deal with the NHL's GOAT RAT in Marchand. And they can't be on the ice always.

I hate the Oilers, but I worry about them as a legit hockey team. Nashville surprised me with more grit in one game then the last three series the Leafs have played.
They aren't serious about doing what needs to be done. Keefe needs to go, they need to get tough, they need a coach that doesn't baby them.

As a Caps fan I'm happy we get rid of Samsonov, back then he was very unstable goalie, I don't know what's up with Leafs GM and they can't buy a better goalie line, they spend millions for nothing

Everyone points to Keefe's record, but he played line switch all year with no time to gel, then when the lines are out played he doesn't change anything. He should have never played Sammy to start tonight, the Bruins have his number. Nylander has been absent since his contract got signed. Marner got a goal…but where has he been accept the 3rd period. Defense…no goalie can support this team, Reily thinks hes a forward and how many times does the puk need to go to the blueline and pass over it cause the D are out of position. Keefe needs to go, Marner needs to wake up or go…I still think Nylander is 2 mil over paid and should go, Reily need to go to 3rd line forward and get a real dman. Keep Knies, Benoit and Edmundson and for god sake get some D. I dont care what he did on the one goal, Reaves has had a good physical game since game 1, They need Bobby McMann back in play. So many thing wrong, no idea where to start!
Yup….69 regular season goals mean jack. The bad thing for leafs fans is that regular season goals mean more to mathews than playoff goals.

the problem with the Leafs is the same as the oilers,
the forwards are 1 way lightweights who yes score but cost more than they bring and the salary is a joke, none of them deserve it. none of them are as good as they think they are or as the fans thing they are.
AND just like the oilers the fans blame either the goalie OR a forward like Reeves because they have nothing else and cant admit there golden boys are the problem plain and simple fact

I have no faith in the Leafs, they do not have a team capable of beating Boston…reasons why: Keefe – for the last 10 minutes of the 2nd period the team was doing the same thing, trying to skate into the zone with control of the puck…Boston had a defensive system where they could not do that effectively…anyone with a brain could see that but the Leafs kept doing the same thing…solution = try something new, also when in the zone with the puck, have someone block Swayman and then take a shot…instead the plan was pass, pass, pass, pass,…but unfortunately they would cough up the puck and then it would go the other way…sure the system worked against Montreal, and Chicago, and Ottawa but it has not worked against Boston so doing something different would be prudent…I blame Keefe for not adjusting, Leafs need to fire him (not sure who to replace him with)…other Leafs that need to go (on defense): Liljegren (just horrible and should not be on an NHL team), McCabe (I like he that he is tough but he pinches too much and gets burnt on it, not to mention dumb penalties at times…on offense it is a shame we have Nylander and Tavares on long term no trade clause contracts as it limits what we can do..IMO you need a different strategy to our offense as the current offense I look at as being good, just we need a different strategy with Boston, and Keefe has yet to figure that out…
Wow, think of ur team spending $100,000,000 for yrs to come, to have this be the out come. Guess short term contracts in tor would be way wiser. Teams could be willing to puck up mathews contract, but nylander, marmer….i dont think so after the last couple of playoff runs. Even the Redwings would be beating this team in playoffs…..when they get there next yr. Go Yzer-plan!!
The Leafs are not built for the playoffs. Not enough grit and toughness.
Seems like in the last thirty or so years, the Leafs have had only one strategy: front load on studs and let them carry a meh keep and shitty 3rd and 4th lines. It's not working for them. To Leafs fans, does the front office ever consider building a less of a juggernaut, but one that is gritty and more balanced from 1-4? Where you're pretty ugly and you don't dominate in the regular season, but are a disciplined headache in the playoffs and have kind of an improbable run to the Cup, like recent Vegas or Florida. Or is the fan base or ownership so insistent on worshipping superstars, that's the only way the Leafs will even consider operating? Just wondering how the Leafs culture sees this.
