[Adrian Hernandez on X] oh Capitaine mon Capitaine !

Beaucoup de mouvements dans ce genou sont toujours très prudents, mais c’est un grand pas en termes de patinage !

  1. Lol, this attempt at hype.

This is evidence of a guy who is weeks away if not months

    E: my gawd, the anger.
I’m not anti-Landy, just sick of the threads saying he’s coming back these playoffs. He ain’t. I love the team we have and like to focus on what we got, not what we don’t

    you got this Landy!!

  3. WesternerBackEast

I’ve had a nagging feeling the last few weeks that they’re waiting until the end of the season to announce that he’s retiring. I hope this is evidence I’m wrong

Sergachev came back from a fractured tibia and fibula in 3 months. Gabe can play 4th line minutes in the WCF. I wish we could see his actual off ice workouts and how hard he can go on the knee

EDIT: I am not calling Gabe soft or anything

Future headline: Avalanche captain returns for Game 1 of SCF after 2 year absence. Records 10 point night.

  6. If it’s physically possible to rehab after this surgery, this is the man that can do it. No cares more and will put more effort into it. This should be the case people look at when they decide if they want to go for it or not.

I know it’s super unlikely to happen, but if we faced Vegas round 2 and Landy came back and scored the series winning goal…

  8. My theory is that after May 10th, we’ll see Landy doing harder, more physical skating if the doc says everything is looking good. I don’t expect him back during the playoffs though. Mid-late next season at the earliest

Good for him. Honestly, I’d rather he not play until next year. If it were me running this show, I’d have him continuing to rehab until the DR gives him clearance to actually go at 100%. Not 85. Not 90. Not 95. Not 99.8. 100%. Has to be 100%. Then I’d have him go in just practices and development camps. Then I’d want to see him in lower level games. Then I’d want to see how he feels the next day or two after those lower level games. If all is good at that point, I’d want to see him in the preseason where he’s playing against actual NHL Talent, on NHL ice, holding up against the physicality of the NHL.

After all that’s said and done, if he’s still good to go then I’d unleash him on the rest of the NHL.

I love Landy, and dude pretty much sacrificed his career for that Cup in ‘22. That alone, will forever have him not just in Avalanche history, but the state of Colorado history as one of the most lovable people in this state… forever. I’m hoping beyond hole 92 steps back out on the ice but I’m also not holding my breath. I can see him officially retiring from the NHL (as a player,) and almost instantly landing in a coaching role with the organization. Makes me so sad, and I love the dude but each month that goes by it makes more and more sense to me

Definitely will be past may 10th with how they stop and start looked, but he’s getting there.

  11. _redacteduser

He’s coming back for the finals, we just gotta make sure we’re in.

  12. I will be happy to have the captain back next season. I’m not sure what benefit he gives us rushing him back in the playoffs right now. Focus on getting him right for next year.

  13. NuggAvsBroncRock

I want this guy back for the playoffs as much of the next guy but to be honest it’s just not a good idea. Look at 2 years ago when everybody Murray and mpj back for that playoff run against the warriors. You just can’t bring a guy who hasn’t played for almost 2 years and expect him to be playoff ready keep rehabbing and who knows maybe he’ll be ready to come back next year.

  14. Just watching Landy work on C cuts makes me so happy. I don’t care when he’s back, just good to see the man lace them up.
