TLDR: One of the best prospect pool in terms of depth quality prospects but still lack star quality prospects. A couple more drafts with multiple first round picks will solve that problem

  2. Getting 1OA would change this dramatically, not to mention the four first round picks in the next two drafts. I’m surprised we’re not higher especially after acquiring Edstrom, who at face value, should be a top 5 prospect in their system.

SJ would be top 5 if goalies are excluded, which is personally the way I would look at it. Goalies are so unpredictable and more and more teams are showing that a star goalie is not necessary to be a strong contender anymore

Having Eklund as a prospect feels weird. Also i think that isnt even our top 5 prospects. No Muk is a head scratcher.

I like this breakdown. We basically have a lot of depth pieces but need more high-end prospects. The average cup contender has about 5/6 on their team.

Sharks inability to develop goalies is pretty bad. Basically since Strelow’s passing in 2006 zero NHL goalies were drafted by the Sharks.
