Too bad blake was dead set on creating an entire team based on the trap. And forcing players to play that style (fiala, pld) who didn’t fit it.
Firing Todd was worthless given that hiller got the temp job by sticking to the same system. Even saying they wouldn’t overhaul anything.
If we want changes, you need to start with taking out rob and the rest of the leadership.
Or we stick with this antiquated “system” that continues to get destroyed by competent teams year after year. This is 2024, every top team has fast puck handlers who can slice through your shitty trap, especially the team you’ve gone against three straight times.
Play a modern system to your strengths. We have fast skaters. We have aggressive forecheckers. We have youth. What the fuck man.
Despite what the doomers say, we’ve got the makings of a good team. We just need a coach that can establish a system that takes advantage of our dynamic guys while being defensively responsible. Who knows, maybe even Hiller can do it. His hands were kinda tied given how late he took over. No matter who lands up being the long term coach, I hope they can be adaptable.
