The only issues with Matthews playing is his health (how positive of an impact can he really make / what state is he in) and the fact it feels like the team always immediately delegates to Matthews.
Domi is obsessed with giving Matthews the puck (and really anyone, he made it super obvious every time he had the puck that he wanted to give it to someone else, such as the 2-on-1’s with Bertuzzi I believe it was)
I’m okay with Marner looking for Matthews as long as it’s in the way he was doing in the last few games and not the pathetic overdoing it as usual.
Bertuzzi, Holmberg, whoever else, it feels like it’s a rule with the team that if there’s any chance you can get the puck to Matthews, go for it, which is a horrible plan.

I’m glad Matthews is (hopefully) playing tonight, this is THE game, like it’s not just a Game 7 against Boston, is a game 7 that will decide the fate of this franchise, and it the fate of this team needs to be decided by the core 4, having them be out for the game makes it feel incomplete and also leaves room for management to be like “oh if we had Matthews then X” IF things don’t go our way (which let’s all hope isn’t a convo we’re having tomorrow)

A big issue with playing Matthews at 3C is that he would get way less than ideal playing time. If keefe played the 3rd line more to account for this, it effectively becomes a top 6 line. There’s a reason coaches don’t usually space out their talent like that.
