they’ll probably promote Arniel to HC

    farewell Bones

  3. tie-dyeSandwhich

Enjoy your time, Bones. You’ve earned it

  4. FreshTony

Good guy, decent coach, poor playoff performer

  5. theekevinc

Is this the second Jets coach in a row to fire himself?

  6. capsrock02

That’s one way to word a title

  7. tjchula

I used to call him Rick lowness with the islanders. Those were such dark times alot of us hated everyone and everything about the islanders

  8. TheFoundation_

Rick is the man wishing him a happy retirement

  9. ecash6969

If I were Craig I’d go after this team since they’d give him the best shot at a cup

  10. vanillasounds

Sounds like a job for Sheldon Keefe

  11. kevinsju

Real nice guy. Had breakfast with him once.

  12. FirstTaste96

Time for a fresh start behind the bench for the Jets.

  13. AnnaKimberley1

New coaching can sometimes bring a fresh perspective.

  14. dbag3o1

Hope he wins the Jack Adams award for his time.

  15. Roddy_Piper2000

Sheldon Keefe may be available shortly

  16. swifferbrain

    Todd Reirden is now available.

  17. InternationalPost447

    Dang, jets slay another legend

  18. waitwhosaidthat

I kinda figured this was gonna happen. Both him and his wife had health issues this year that caused him to miss time. Sometimes you just gotta hang ‘em up. He seemed like a very well liked coach.

  19. Dazd_cnfsd

I think Sheldon Keefe might be available

  20. ElectricEel9090

what was the issue in the playoffs? Jets got steam rolled this year and cracked mentally when the going got tough. Very odd considering how well they played all year

  21. Mountain-Damage4494

I saw Rick once at the Stadium Skytrain station in Vancouver, I think it was back in ‘07 when he was an assistant. Anyway, I recognized his face but couldn’t place where I knew him. He was well dressed and probably saw I was staring so he gave me a smile and nod and kept on walking. I realized a few days later watching the game who he was. That stuck with me all these years for some reason.

  22. Loudlaryadjust

    Jay Woodcroft to Winnipeg?!?!?

  23. The_guy_who_did_that

I heard Sheldon keefe is looking for a job

  24. ValleyBreeze

Aw Bones! Such a total class act. Deserves the very best retirement. ❤

  25. monumentvalley170

That’s a long time. I remember when he played. I’m getting up there. Interesting he retired as a player from the Jets 1.0, and as a coach from Jets 2.0

  26. ViolinistMean199

So Mike Babcock. It may not have worked in the east with the leafs and blue jackets but it worked when Detroit was on the west and the jets are IN THE WEST

I think the jets need to give it a go

  27. Spiritual_Holiday511

As much as I hope we hire someone from outside the organization, I would put my life savings on them just giving the assistant coach a promotion.

  28. Another coach gone due to the cancerous Scheifele

  29. YEGuySmiley

Wow! Congratulations Rick B. You’ve been a great contributor and ambassador to the league and many players!

  30. Numerous-Strike-5267

Congrats to him! Wonder who’ll replace him. Feel like Gallant would be a fit?

  31. UncommonHouseSpider

Too bad they got hit by an avalanche. You did good sir, enjoy your golden years!

  32. Ducci17

Time to get Coach Q back behind a bench

  33. natertottt

After the year he had, nobody can blame him.

  34. Dash_Rendar425

Canucks fans thank you Rick! Enjoy your retirement!

  35. Congrats Rick, you’ve certainly earned it! 💚
