Kirill is underrated I swear. Going to Xcel anytime he touches the puck the whole arena stands
Wild have a great future and will be back into the Playoffs soon enough
Wild thang
Charlie Stramel was a huge reach in last year's draft. Hard to consider him a valued prospect. His ceiling is a bottom 6 center.
Just realized that the Avs-Stars second round is the Parise-Suter bowl!
The wild should've been tanking the last 5 years, all we've done since is try our best to be a first round exit and our best pick with 14.7m of dead cap is 9th overall… The Wild have been actively hurting their future by trying to make the playoffs
The cap space definitely buried them for a few years
This is the ultimate mediocre team
Perpetual Minneocrity
people saying the wild were a disappointment are a bit harsh, they went without their captain and competed with the buyouts still in place
"Wild" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Also, Kaprizov was still lingering with the injury from the previous year. Pretty much affected him the first 1/3 of the season. And then again injured……by who….the Winnepeg Jets.
All things considered, I think Billy has done a great job with the young talent and trades with his hands tied behind his back. However, nearly all the players resigned last off season were a total failure and really hurt the team this year. I'm still optimistic that Billy will pull another rabbit out of his hat, but thankful there will be no re-signings this off season that will come back to haunt the team. Wasting another year of The Thrill is the hardest pill to swallow before getting that cap space.
It really wasn't the re-signings of Hartman, Foligno & Zuccarello, it was the no trade clause that was agreed to. Can't trade them now unless they wave the NTC
They could lose all the pending UFA's on your list for all i care. Goligoski absolutely needs to go. Gaudreau could be another trade.
My issues with Billy G aren't (mainly) with the buyouts. It's the non-sense he's done since with handing out NMCs like candy and all the issues the front office has been having.
Fingers crossed on Riley Heidt. Watching him up here in PG (GO Cougars GO!) His game has been developing in to something to get excited about .
I hope my Wild resign Rossi. He’s going to dominate as he grows.
But since a culture of mediocrity and losing just follows Minnesota sports, it probably won't matter.
He’s my Faber-ite
I knew that we weren't strong defensively this year (except Faber, he's a gem), but having three goalies sub .900 is wild… no pun intended
We were a better team this year than I expected, and I think keeping quiet on the trade front is the right idea. This team is happy together and wants to win together, and that's doable if we can keep them bought in for one more year.
For Fleury's sake, I do hope the Wild have a lot of success next season. Send Fleury out on a high note 😤
Rosi
They might have the most cap space when the cap goes sky high.
I don't see the Wild making the playoffs with all the NMC and extensions given to aging veterans and glue guys. The only exception would be for Zuccarello to keep Kaprizov happy. I'd prefer we'd have cut loose Hartman and Foligno and let the prospects get bigger minutes.
14 million that's worse than PLD CONTRACT
We're just a little bit away from Fletcher's damage to Minnesota and Philly from being over and we can see what these teams can do.
Just don't move my boy Hartman. I love him on this team.
What about Zuc ? wish they would trade Zuc to a contender next year so he has a chance a winning a championship
This team has EASILY the best potential in he entire league to make a huge run in ~26-27. They have an amazing young tallent pool, who will be in thier prime, they shed a 14+mil issue, the league cap is raising, and they have over a dozen draft picks to trade for current tallent. All of that happening at the same time for a perfect storm of potential any team could only dream of. The success or failure of this team lies exclusively in the hands of the GM.
I hope The Wild can use next season as a building year to further develop all that young talent then once the bulk of that buyout drops off the books go out and get a big piece or two to fill in gaps and get back to playoff form.
Still not happy about them firing Deano
when the league grows to 43 teams, we will need an 84 game season.
I think the wild will definitely be in the playoffs next year. Dean and bob woods are absolute idiots and killed this season in the first 30 games. Kaprizov may have only missed 7 games to injury but he went missing for the entire first half due to lingering injuries from last year. Kaprizov is elite and I wouldn’t be surprised if he put up 60-60-120 next year.
Those buyouts were just straight up brutal.
