@Hurricanes de la Caroline

  1. Carolina favours the shooting-from-anywhere strategy all game long, so they often have high shot totals, even if they don’t have many great chances. Like where some teams will throw the puck down low and go battle for it again when they don’t have options, the Hurricanes will throw it on net for a weak SOG.

  2. Carolina ain't going no where with Freddy in net. Dunno how they still haven't figured this out yet. Guess he only made it to like 2 playoffs since he got there but still.

  3. Did you guys see that for one or two seconds beside the ice a logo showing the Hurricanes win popped up for a few seconds. Probably so one hitting the wrong button. I believe this happened close to the half way point in the first overtime

  4. It really sucks to see my Canes struggle the same way they have in previous playoffs. Unremarkable special teams and unable to win close games on the road. Still time to turn the series around, but not feeling great.

  5. Honestly the Rangers deserved a call in OT after the missed call where Orlov took down Schneider into the boards, and Canes had a couple power plays. I don't really think it was unfair

  6. They had to call that. The Canes would have gotten a glorious scoring opportunity because of it. It wasn't the action itself, it was the place where it was done.

  7. That Guentzel penalty against Fox was horrible. Fox punches first, right in front of the ref, and then flops to the ground after Guentzel responds. This was just goddamn awful officitating over and over again.

  8. I am not a rangers fan, but to me that cross checking call is more or less textbook cross checking. Not a particularly hard crosscheck, but badly placed, and timed. That it led to the guy wiping out I think is the only reason it got called, but I have a hard time seeing it as a non-call that makes sense too. Both hands on the stick, and a shove using the stick, causing a turnover is fairly cut and dry. Now, if you wanted to say 5 on 5 via a diving penalty, sure.

Id be surprised if the guy who charged for a headshot at the start of the video doesn't get a suspension, regardless of missing the hit

  9. That's a penalty you call in the regular season, not in double OT in the playoffs. With that being said if I was a Canes fan I would be pretty pissed, but you also went 0/5 on the powerplay, so it is what it is.

  10. now the canes fans know how isles fans felt when the refs kept handing them lame calls but gave the isles literally nothing, or kept trying to cancel out powerplays by making up some secondary call ..

  11. Ok so here it is. Stop complaining about the officiating. When both teams are on the power play many times, if you go 0/5 on the power play, guess what…that’s on you. That’s on your team not making it happen on the power play, and there the Rangers penalty kill at work. That’s it. And to still not have any faith in this Ranger team…thats on you as a fan. They came back to win again. What, you’re never supposed to be the team who is down a goal or two during a game? What kind of mentality is that? They’ve had more come from behind wins than any team this year and it just demonstrates that they’ll compete even when losing. Just stop, enjoy the hockey, and let’s go rangers

  12. Trouba with a spectacular miss! Good thing he missed because if he had he connected, I could see supplemental discipline.

  13. I am a Rangers fan as well, and I'm glad they're up 2-0, but losing at even strength and having special teams be the crutch isn't a sustainable way to win a series or a cup. I'm getting vibes of the Tampa and Devils series and I don't like it. All that being said the only concern now is beating the Canes a 3rd time and continuing to work from there

  14. The canes lost two separate power plays (in regulation) because they took a stupid and preventable penalty to force 4v4 idc how well you play in 5v5 you do that in the playoffs you don’t win

  15. The Trouba clip at the beginning would put some WWE wrestlers to shame, I’ve seen a lot worse spears than that

  16. As soon as Carolina got a PP in OT, the refs were going to look for anything to even it out. That’s usually how it goes, even if the second is weak

  17. Calling any penalty outside of like a high stick or a delay of game puck over the glass in OT is BRUTAL, that’s some bad behavior by the refs. Canes need to figure out the PP before they complain about the refs tho, reminds me of game 4 Boston vs Toronto this year

  18. Canes needed this game bad I think cause rangers gonna still one at home canes can’t let them happen and have to win both

  19. Calling any penalty outside of like a high stick or a delay of game puck over the glass in OT is BRUTAL, that’s some bad behavior by the refs. Canes need to figure out the PP before they complain about the refs tho, reminds me of game 4 Boston vs Toronto this year

  20. As a canes fan, we aren't winning of we cant score a powerplay or kill off a penalty. Thats what we've done all season, its what helped us win and get to the first round. The rangers are not gonna be easy and if we cant capitalize on someone like trouba in the box, might as well pack for Cabo now

  21. The NY Lebron James. I have never seen more pathetic dives from a team. Its OK the refs always have their back

  22. Let's go Whalers!!! The green jerseys will be out in force for game three in Hartford. I miss the days Nicky Fotiu Of the Rangers would Chase the opposition around the ice to fight. Then he was traded to the Whalers, I mean, hurricane.

  23. Love the way you comment, you aren’t blind for your team. You have a team, but you are a hockey lover, plain and simple. I’m a Habs fan, still watching as much as I can because I love the game.

  24. I am a Ranger fan too… and I agree..The Canes have played great and this is a series that could still go 7 a bounce here or there and it is a different series…. I am reminded of the Stanley cup finals Rangers VS Kings where a lot of OT games that could have gone either way….

  25. Chopping a guy’s skate out from under him is a weak penalty? In what world? I call that every time even if my team is the one doing the chopping. Maybe I’m missing something but I didn’t have any reaction to this call.

  26. That cross check doesn't get called if it's in the corner or along the boards and open ice you've got to call it. And there's also calls that the same way went for the Rangers. Officiating as a whole hasn't been good.

Series is not over have to win 4

  27. They mentioned on the broadcast that the penalty had to be called because of the location on the ice. Although weak, it is a penalty and could have resulted in a breakaway. If it happened anywhere else on the ice, they probably don't make that call.

  28. If the Hurricanes had even performed to HALF their regular season averages for PP/PK, this series would be 2-0 Carolina … 0-10 PP, Allowed FOUR Rangers PP goals. This is the series in a nutshell … special teams, one side's living up to the regular season rankings, the other has totally abandoned their regular season form…. guess which is which?

  29. This might be a hot take but watched the game last night and was fuming at how many bad calls or missed calls by the refs there were. The missed calls went both ways but there were definitely way more Carolina guys on the ice than whistles blown.
