Gio sounds like he doesn’t want to quit. If he plays 52 more games he can hit 1,200 on his career and if he played 51 of them with Calgary he’d get to 1,000 with the club.
Cheap depth. Give the fans and team something to rally around in what’s gonna be a pretty uncertain season. And if shit’s looking shitty come the deadline, try to dish him to a playoff team for peanuts.

I’d be happy if he finished up his career in Calgary.
Next year will be a bit of nothing year so having him around for the rookies would be good.
BronzeDucky
I’d be fine with him coming back, but the fact that he had zero games in the playoffs and only 46 games in the season makes it a pretty big stretch. And it’s not like the Leaves were exactly a defensive powerhouse either.
TkachukNorris
Yes, sign him

Not ready to slow down? Obviously whoever wrote that hasn’t been watching his play the last 2 years

The Flames could easily give him a generous one year deal to be a 7th dman. I think it would be a nice part of an expected bleak season.
Aqqles
It would be cool to sign him but we have such a defensive log jam that I don’t think it makes sense. Unless we’re trading someone like Andersson.
BBQMosquitos
Maybe he’ll get the Kessel treatment.

1 year, league minimum. They have enough bodies on the 6-7 fringe, but goddamn I’d love to see Gio come back even if it is as just a token signing.

Another potential entrant for [Salim Valji’s](https://www.reddit.com/r/CalgaryFlames/comments/1cabv6a/any_guesses_on_who_salim_valji_is_referring_to/) « on ice reunion. »
