   No Primeau, no Shanahan. I don’t like that timeline.

   There is a timeline out there where we have Yzerman, Fedorov, Jagr, and Gretzky.

   I believe I have heard that Jagr told all teams except the pens he would not play for them so he could play with Mario Lemiuex.

   I’m not sure it would’ve worked out any better with Jagr than with Primeau. Jagr, Mario, and Bowman were radioactive together in Pittsburgh with the players eventually revolting even though they had nearly gone back to back in the early 90s. Maybe it would’ve played out differently in the Wings locker room but I think it would’ve likely been a bigger mess than with Primeau.

   So, something to remember is that Jagr had told multiple teams not to draft him ahead of the draft. He wanted to play along side Mario. He did not simply fall to 5.

   We had a shot with him and Ciccarelli and Sheppard.

   We didn’t win.
