Sucks they wasted a whole year of him and potentially damaged his value. This is a deal that should have happened a year ago.
when your team has a 22yo player who requests a trade that was a PPG player prior to the NHL, all that you can do is be disappointed.
I mean he’s pretty one dimensional and not even great at it the past 2 seasons.
So another prospect from Blake’s masterclass “shortest rebuild of all time” hits the dust, with Spence likely next up for departure. Byfield and Clarke, assuming they even let Clarke play, will be close to their mid-20’s by the time the next rebuild even starts. I’d bet on them becoming our versions of Dach and DeBrincat, good young pieces who end up being sold off because they simply won’t fit the new contention timeline once they are forced to overhaul this group.
He’s gonna end up killing it somewhere else.

You don’t know if he worked hard to get into the line up or he just sulked and felt sorry for himself. I wanted Arty to be that guy but you also have to hit the net to score. Picking 17 ir 18 year old kids has an element of not knowing the level they mature to. Every team goes thru this.
