Meruelo dit qu’il a l’intention de construire un nouveau quartier de divertissement, qui abriterait un stade de la LNH, dans l’espoir de ramener une équipe d’expansion dans la Vallée. 2. The NHL will never be back to Arizona in our lifetime. The tell was them making the right to reactivate exclusive to Alex Murrello. If he isn't able to hit all of his bench marks, another possible ownership group would have to spend close to a billion dollars to build an arena, and at least 1.3 billion (probably more) as an expansion fee. ) without having a guarantee of getting a team. The municipalities there don't seem cooperative to a new arena.

  3. A new owner (not Meruelo) and new rink needs to be built (not artist renderings) before an NHL team returns to the desert, not before..

  4. I don't know about the rest of you, but I never got severance pay for a layoff, firing, or any kind of dismissal. In fact, I felt lucky to even get paid on time. Not that it's right, but it's certainly not unusual in the world of us Great Unwashed…I can pretty much tell you who two of the other three bidders are. The city of Scottsdale being one. If for no other reason than spite – and trying to tie up everything around that Scottsdale Rd. interchange. And it's almost a given that Del Webb will try to get their grubby hands on any large tract purchase in Arizona…The third may well be Phoenix itself. With no water or utilities there, they may open a new landfill there to stick it to Scottsdale… 😏 …Let the range wars begin… 😒

  5. The NHL is counting no Muerello failing. Why would they want to sell him an expansion team for $1B five years from now when they just sold a team to Smith for $1.3B? Franchise values go up, not down. On day one after the 5 year window, the NHL will open up expansion in Arizona and the price will be at least $1.5B.

  6. I wonder if one or more of the groups making a bid to trying to win a bid to bring NHL hockey back to Arizona. If Alex don't win and another group starts building a arena will the team have to get a new name. . There are reports that ownership group was so bad to at running things i i wonder if another group will try and out bid him .

  7. How the coyotes franchise was valued at a billion dollars is Way Beyond me

  8. I heard Amazon is one of the bidders? No thank you, theres lots of land go somewhere else. Why do they wait till theres something someone else wants go bid on your own land somewhere else,

  9. Already??? … The Coyotes have been a fumbling / bumbling disaster in the desert for many decades. This is just a continuance of the bad joke known as the Coyotes.
    Meruelo is a complete clown. Que the circus music … again. 🤡 🎪 🤡 🎠 🤡 🎢 🤡

  10. this is not how that usually works, usually: a year for a week of severance, but I really doubt Coyotes will be activated.

  11. Could someone else come in, buy the land and build an arena forcing NHL/owner to sell? Someone who could really build team in Arizona?

  12. I live in the Phoenix area and I can say look at the history here. inside a 14 year period, the Valley opened up four sporting venues. Now I see why there's difficulty for the Arizona Coyotes to get a new Arena voted on. Especially when this team chosen to abandon the one that was built for them in Glendale. See I could careless about how the Coyotes left Glendale to move in ASU. The reality of it is, they gave up on the Arena in Glendale and now there's Arena Football being played in there to fill in that void. If the Coyotes ever want to make a return in the NHL. The only way I see that happening is them talking to City of Glendale to play hockey in there again because if it wasn't for Arena Football that venue would just sit there and rot to hell!

  13. The problem the bringing the Cyottes back is the current ownership. Under a new & better ownership this would be going smoother.

  14. The employees who work at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas that have been there since it opened will be receiving a severance of 60,000 dollars and they also have work fairs to help those displaced find new jobs .. The A’s the Coyotes should be ashamed

  15. I don't think any of these occurrences are unexpected. The parcel is located in a prime area. I'm interested in who the other bidders are. When Arizona was made a state, the federal government gave the new state some land. That land was to be sold or leased to benefit public education. If Muruelo doesn't win the auction, there's nothing stopping the winner from partnering on the development of a possible arena.

  16. When Alex Mozerella inevitably fails ro get a atadium in place Smith should buy the og Winnepeg jets history and bumbers and give it over to true north

  17. I would rather never see the kachina on the ice again than to pick up in five years right where we left off with this absolutely toxic brand of business and community relations. Meruelo can go to hell

  18. My question is when is Wisconsin gonna get a team or expansion team. Makes more sence a cold state and not a dessert

  19. Honestly as a coyotes fan I think we will get a team back some day but I expect it to take 10 to 15 years. If Atlanta can get a second chance and maybe a third chance, I think we will get a team back some day

  20. I hope the NHL never agrees to such a crazy deal like this again. As an Atlanta hockey fan, I can't imagine the future of NHL hockey in the city depending on one guy for 5 years. This is such a long and drawn out charade, I'd be asking myself if keeping up with NHL hockey was worth it. If he was given any "exclusive negotiating window" it should come down to whether or not he wins the auction on June 27th. Coyotes fans have been tortured enough. They deserve so much better than what they actually got.

  21. I worked at a company for five years. Relatively small, one office, but it also had over 200 employees, so it wasn't entirely a small business. When the company was acquired by a bigger company, a lot of us were given the choice to either relocate to the new office in Arizona or be let go. I told the employers that I would need to take my family into consideration when making this kind of a decision. Because it wasn't an outright "yes", the powers that be took that as a "no" and therefore let me go in a reduction in force. Because it was a RIF termination and not a lacking in productivity termination, I received TWO months severance with health insurance. One extra paycheck won't do much for most of these people that are being unfortunately terminated from the former Arizona Coyotes. I think the NHL absolutely should look at bringing the Coyotes back to Arizona BUT it cannot be Alex Meruelo at the helm. He's proven now that he is either incapable or unwilling to run an actual professional sports franchise.
