Friedman sur TJMS : La rumeur court à Vegas que Guentzel avait une demande et que les Hurricanes sont prêts à répondre à cette demande.


Il a ajouté qu’il avait entendu cela de la part de plusieurs équipes. Il a également déclaré que la structure du contrat et les protections commerciales étaient encore en cours d’élaboration, mais a réitéré que Guentzel reviendrait probablement aux Hurricanes.

    Wait hold on are you telling me that the guy who said he was upset the last GM wasn’t negotiating with him is now gonna sign with a GM who negotiated with him?

    I thought for sure he was in it solely for money and free agency with a free plane ticket to Vancouver.

    This goes down as one of the best trades in franchise history if the deal gets done. We got him at the deadline without giving up our top prospects or a 1st round pick (with the obvious caveat there being…you know). I really hope we get to see the JAG line for years to come.

    im genuinely curious because i feel like most players start to drop off when they get into their mid 30’s… why does any team want to sign jake for 8 years? i feel like it makes no sense for any team, maybe im just missing something and i love jake but im not sure why any team wants him for 8 years when he’s turning 30 at the beginning of next season.

    Friedman was just on Pat McAfee’s show and said the ask from Jake was 8×8 and that Carolina is willing to meet on that. Nothing official but it’s trending in the right direction.
