  1. Didn't want Sprong back, the Wings don't have room for his game…but I'm surprised he couldn't get more from anyone. Veleno makes less impact than him. Their salaries should be much closer.

  2. Sprong in VAN feels like a cheap replacement for Kuzmenko. One-way, right shot, scoring winger.
It'll be interesting to see how long Coach Tocchet tolerates his defensive game in the bottom 6!

  3. I like the forward depth, but I think this probably means that if they want to add another defenseman, a guy like Garland is out. I love the player, but at almost 5 million, he's just too much for a 3rd line player, and now with the added wingers, he's not a 4th line player, so he's probably the odd man out, given his contract. He'd also potentially, as the centrepiece of a package, get the Canucks be a halfway decent defensive top 4 defenseman and maybe rid the Canucks of Poolman's contract. You never know. But now there's a bit of a logjam in the middle 6, and it's a good problem to have.

  4. I really don't like Veleno after he stomped Nino at worlds last year. He should be thanking his lucky star that he can still play professional hockey.

  5. Here's a chance for THG fans still watching do some Goodwill diving in Arizona to fill up some missing merch for Shannon.

  6. Best hockey find out of a Goodwill I had was a 90s Florida Panthers jersey that was 1 size too big for me. But hey, it was cheap and it's part of the collection now.

  7. I can see Joe Velano teaming up with Michael Rasmussen and Nate Danielson on a third line for the Red Wings. Good size and no real pressure to be big scorers. But they could turn out to be a surprise.

  8. I am so surprised Tocchet would want Sprong but I'm sure he and Allvin would have had a conversation about it and think he's a player they can work with. Still, considering how they dumped Kuzmenko as practically a liability it is surprising.

  9. Didn't the Arizona gear wined up at Goodwill because Mullet Arena was cleaning out its surplus and no one from the Coyotes management reached out about it?

  10. I find it a bit odd teams are apprehensive about signing Sprong. He's coming off two career high years in a row, yet isn’t able to cash in on it.

  11. Seems like the Canucks camp and early season will have competition for playing time. I like it 👍
