Evason seems like a very Columbus hire. Idk how much better Woodcrodt would have been, if at all. His interim replacement got the Oilers one goal away from the cup. Makes you wonder how much the coach really matters up there…

it was basically an hour wait to hear about the arena, and when they started talking, it was all about native american shit, and stuff that most people don't actually care about, but have to pretend to now. but when they finally did, the new arena looks awesome!
Where is the location in Calgary and what about the building and when are they going to get started and projected finish on the project and how much will the projected costs be? Who gives a rats about the politicals and glee show events?
The Flames arena saga has been going on for a long time, this is like the third plan now over the last few years.

Congrats to blue jacket fans on Evanson. I wasn’t around for the Jacques Lemaire era of the wild, but with that being said Evanson was by far my favorite wild coach. I wish we didn’t fire him. Also all the post game interviews with him he really talks so that’s nice.

My guess is on Stastney that it goes 2 way first year, and 1 way second year with him making around 800k for that last season. If he does manage to get a 1 way for one or both it will likely be for 775k imo.

Most people here hate the deal, only consolation is that Edmonton has to pay some of it.
I was on vacation and in vegas and went to one of their playoff games and yeah its so much better than Saddledome, its definite really due for a change and modernized.
And you always hear about concert acts not liking the low roof so whatever.
I think Calgary has been pretty aggressive about promoting tourism, so maybe talking about the native-themed architecture was part of that. They used to buy ad times and space with the Kings. A little weird seeing their ads inside Staples Center and on the broadcasts and the website, but that was when Sutter was coach. So I thought maybe that's why they thought they could make some hay in LA.
Metro coaches vs any other division. Oh it's on. Torts, Evason, Roy, Lavy? As long as they feed Sullivan to Rod the Bod to keep him distracted, I think they can take the Atlantic down. The west? Bednar could put up a fight, but I think the rest would be creampuffs.
