Not gonna lie, despite the shit going with him, I’m generally surprised how we managed to flip him into a 2nd-3rd-4th, then go around next year to try and trade for him, get cockblocked by the CBA, wait for a buyout, and then sign him to a cheaper cap hit than expected.
And it just cost us a 5th round pick and a prospect we weren’t signing.
He clearly isn’t going to start for anyone, he can either be our 7th again or he can head to the ahl/overseas. I’d rather him be here tbh.

You can do worse for a 7th defenseman than DeAngelo. If the one who got hurt in the playoffs had been anyone but Slavin or Pesce, we’d have been glad that our 7th D could still provide some offense from the blue line.
He’s given me no reason to dislike him during the time he’s been a Hurricane, so I thank him for his professionalism and wish him the best.
