Balsy move pulling Georgiev for the 3rd. It was just as much as statement to the whole team to play better as it was for Georgie's play and it fired up the team in the 3rd leading to the win!

It could be wishful thinking, but when they asked about what they were going to do on the RW with Mika and Kreids, I got the feeling that Hunt is not Gallant's idea of a long-term fix. They wouldn't have this problem if they didn't foolishly trade Pavel. They might not have it if they hadn't foolishly chased Kravtsov back to the KHL. There are two players I can think of offhand who fill the bill perfectly, ie, Radulov and Kessel. They're both getting old, but they can score and make plays. They're on teams that are struggling and would likely take picks or prospects in return.

Coach Gallant was wrong, that should have been said in private, not on national TV. Mika finally started to speak up, and he gets chastised for it in public? WRONG! Gallant should know better. Mika is one of the candidates for Captain, he is not a DeAngelo (who by the way, has straightened out and become quite a good player now). We should all be Behind this group of Rangers, as this is the best team we've had in a very long time! (yes, it is already 27 years since 1994) … Coach Gerard Gallant, watch that clip again, and go ahead and reply to us!
I love his answers. He's so honest. When he withholds, he does so to either protect his players or not give anything away to the other team. The way he held Mika accountable and yet diffused it so quickly in the press room was such good coaching. Great stuff.
