Edmonton has one season left to try and win. Regardless of how they tackle this scenario key players will likely be walking away at seasons end. Not enough money to go around.

I like it as a blues fan, we have the cap to take a gamble. For once the blues aren't at the cap and the salary probably wouldn't be spent on anything but owners pocket. It's a no lose situation in a retool year. If it works then great, if not a second and third was worth the risk
Holloway is a reasonable offer. Has played a bit and shown a lot of potential. Not a bad deal for a forward at 2 mil.
Broberg doesn't have a lot of NHL experience so 4 mil a year feels like a huge gamble that could backfire. Played well under the stress of playoffs but has only played 81 NHL games total with a +/- of -5 with average of 12 minutes per game.
