You cant compare Patrick Kanes hip injury to Matt Murrays are far as coming back. As a goalie youre using your hips in WAY different ways. Try going into the butterfly and see how that feels on your hips. well murray has to do that 100 times a game for say 50-60 games a season. Thats alot. a more closer comparison would be RIP Ray Emery you guys are robably a little young to have watched Ray but. Not the same surgury but both hips. Emery came back had to COMPLETELY change the way he played goal was upright alot more less butterflyhe was ALOT slower side to side. But he played decent for a season or two and then fell off. hopefully Murray can have a couple good seasons before he falls off as well

I had one hip replaced 4 months ago it’s been hard enough, I couldn’t imagine getting both done at the same time.

If he can come in and have same role as Jones last year and perform well, that's all you need out of a 3rd stringer. It also will give the younger guys another year of development without rushing them. Lets all hope the they all stay fairly healthy and perform as expected, that's all we can ask for really.
