  1. It looks like they made a trade and got to keep a couple of really good prospects. I wish my team had done that. I think those guys must have really wanted out of Edmonton for some reason. Connor McDavid loses again.

  2. I think you meant that the oilers were going to match one or more of them
But to convince them not to they threw in 2 more pieces
I get you are jealous of the oilers but sheeesh
Did we slap your team around that bad over the years that you hate them so much??

  3. It’s not pity lol. The oilers had the cap space to match the players so they told St. Louis to give them more compensation or they would match and St. Louis couldn’t afford to not get Broberg, hence this second transaction and player.

  4. As a Blues fan – P Fischer is an underrated prospect. He could be a 5-8 option if he develops. Nothing fancy but he should be solid defensively and provide some transition.

  5. I don't think it was as much as a pity trade as more as a peace offering. The we did something sh*tty and now we are sorry no hard feelings here's a little something extra.

  6. OK guys, but what if the guy who wrote the article knows more than we think? 😂🧐💀jkjk

  7. Definitely seems like they either negotiated this before hand and nobody knew. Or the Oilers threatened to match at the last minute and negotiated something extra to not do so.

  8. Actually, the Blues don't get Future Considerations. They get Past Considerations: Broberg & Holloway. As for Fischer, who knows? He might turn out to be another Brian Rafalski 7 or 8 years from now. Rafalski was a 4 year NCAA player, not highly regarded, had to go overseas to play and ended upcoming back to North America, became a star defenseman and won 3 Stanley Cups.

  9. LOL the Blues just over-paid for two players, good for them. Broberg wasn't interested in being in edmonton and hes not worth 4.58m for 2 years. No hard feelings, but don't be suprised if this happens to the Blues in the future, the league has a long memory.

  10. This isn’t a pity trade. Lol The oilers made it look like they were going to match, then probably called St Louis and said “we’re matching unless you give us a bit more” a 3rd and a prospect isn’t great, but the oilers were able to force them to give up a bit more….. this channel sucks

  11. So Broberg suddenly jumps ahead of Perunovich on Blues' d pairings, of course. With the increased $$ value of contract they can't sit back and watch the player play in Springfield at 4.5. Sooooo that means Perunovich with 17 points in 54 games suddenly becomes available?

  12. Honestly, this is a savvy move from Bowman. He cleared the cap to gain some leverage back and then had St.Louis add a 3rd and a prospect to not match.

  13. If St. Louis is handing out draft picks for free… I'm hoping my team is in line. Or maybe this was a sweetener for the Oilers not to match their offers.

  14. ND is a good hockey program, Fischer has some decent upside for being a 5th rd pick. Sure they arent Michigan or Wisconsin, but they do produce quality talent

  15. We haven't seen the last of this between the two organizations. I'm not an Oilers or Blues fan, but a 3rd round pick and a prospect with an AHL ceiling would not make me forget losing two NHL caliber, young, bottom positioned players, who were both very servicable in the playoffs.
The Blues probably know retribution will be coming. I.E. Jake Neighbors, or even their UFA's next year

  16. So the Oilers are friends instead of enemies with the Blues that stole their players opposite of an alleged NHL code. The Oilers trade with the Blues is embarrassing and ODD. Stan BUMman will destroy the Oilers. Good job talking about the oddity of this trade or lack there of. Oilers acquire a 3rd and a bum prospect from the Blues. BOWMAN = NHL BOZO THE CLOWN! HONK HONK!!
P.S. the Oilers have 2 open spots on the right side of the defense with Broberg and Ceci gone. CRAZY BOWMAN! Oilers = CURSED

  17. The Oilers may need someone to rub puck carriers out. The Oilers is looking ahead. Fischer will showcase himself at the young star tournament.

  18. Pity trade? Yeah… things like that don't happen in multi billion dollar business. Something you'll learn when you make it out of grade school.

  19. This is silly. Edmonton could have matched w Kane on ltir. They called St Louis instead and got then to sweeten the deal in exchange for not matching the offer sheets. It’s not a fleece bc Edmonton doesn’t want those players at that cap hit.
