    Always appreciate a nice Elite Prospects video breakdown, especially when it’s in the middle of summer with no hockey going on and it’s one of our guys

    God he’s quick, if he develops his scoring touch a little he could be a real good player and exceed his proposed ceiling! Hope he really shines this year and we see what the flyers saw in him when making the pick

    We’ll see if he can switch his mindset and become more of an offensive threat. But if all he does is continue his current trajectory and play style (an uber fast, positionally sound, high motor center who can create space for teammates in the O zone and kill opposing plays in our own zone) that will be very useful as well.

    We’d all prefer the playmaking and/or goal scoring center… but a workhorse down the middle who doesn’t flash but still helps our team win will probably cost us less contract-wise down the line. Could be a really useful complimentary piece to high skill players.

    I’ve been wondering, since he is so young for his draft class, how would he be looked at if the year he just had was his pre draft year?

    Would be wild if the Flyers gave him a shot this year. Possible 9 game stint before being sent back down? I’m fully expecting him to just go straight back to juniors but maybe we have another Coots on our hands here… Just feels like his only chance to expand his offensive game is to play another year (at least) in juniors.

    This is great stuff, and I hope he becomes a legit top 6 center for the Flyers. However, I’m still a little miffed about passing on Helenius in favour of Jett. I think he has a higher ceiling and possibly a higher floor.

    That to be said, I never knew who Gauthier was before we drafted him and he looks like he could be a stud. I also wasn’t sure about York in favour of Caufield, but that seems to have been a good pick looking back on it now.

    In short, what the fuck do I know?
