@Blackhawks de Chicago

Ce n’est pas lié aux Hawks, mais c’est une journée très triste pour le hockey. Johnny Gaurdreua et son frère sont décédés.

Drunk drivers are the scum of this world. Absolutely tragic situation for their family. Rest in peace Johnny and Matthew.

This is all over the local affiliates here in Philly since it happened so close by.

RIP Johnny Hockey and his bro.

No reason to be drunk driving, and please pay attention when passing others on 2 lane highways.

RIP Johnny Hockey, you will be missed

Their sisters wedding was this weekend too apparently. That shit makes me sick to my stomach. Poor family.

That is so heartbreaking to hear

Awful news. Another reminder to never drive after drinking and to tell your friends to leave the car at the bar and call an Uber. Tell them you’ll drive them to grab it in the morning.

This made my stomach drop. I’m getting married later this year and just lost my dad a couple of weeks ago. I am already struggling with the idea of him not being there, and I’ll have a few months to cope with it. I cannot imagine the pain of losing 2 brothers a day before what’s supposed to be one of the happiest days of your life. How awful for their family. I hope the hockey community provides immense support for their family during this time.

I’m gutted, same age as Johnny and remember watching his ascent to the league. Feel so bad for his family, they were in town for his sisters wedding. Devastating.

On a related note, news outlets often report fatal bike incidents in a non-driver blaming manner, even in alcohol related incidents. Ie, “cyclist dies in crash” vs “cyclist killed by drunk driver”. Important to remember this here and in similar instances because the media’s agenda on reporting car related bike fatalities is detrimental to both cyclists and the public at large by minimizing driver blame.

RIP Johnny and Matthew, what a horrible tragedy

Drunk driver is shitty but also slow the fuck down people. If the car in front of you is doing something not normal, there’s probably a good reason for it, you just can’t see. That driver gave the cyclists some room only to be passed, on the right no less, by some impatient fuck who ruined a family, a team, and countless people’s lives just because they didn’t have patience.

Just so horrific. I can’t even imagine how his sister feels, what should be the happiest day of your life marred by losing two brothers. Even more sickening that this is so preventable.

This is devastating for the family and hockey fans/kids looking up to Johnny. Idk how the family finds peace under these circumstances.

This is so fucked up. Christ. One selfish, reckless asshole can ruin everything.

The guy died, take the time to spell his name right.

God fucking damn…it’s so fucking easy to NOT drive drunk. Now this? Horrible. Absolutely horrible

Seriously people, this is no fucking joke: if you have drank recently, don’t fucking drive. Don’t do it. It’s pretty likely you accidentally ruin or end someone’s life, and it’s probably not gonna be your own.

    The poor parents/family can’t imagine.

    Unbelievable tragedy. Fuck man. RIP
