Definitely a scott
How do you even decide on this one? In one corner you have Scott Stevens – longtime captain and heart and soul of our team for many years. A respected and feared presence in the league who was amazing defensively, brutal physically and still put up points.
On the other side you have one of the best offensive defensemen to ever do it in Scott Niedermayer. One of the prettiest skaters ever, puck on a string, incredible hockey IQ, eyes in the back of his head.
How the hell do you pick between these two?
It’s a tough choice. Stevens and Niedermayer are A1 and A2, but I vote for Stevens.
I consider myself in the Niedermayer camp
It’s Scott Steven’s. The Devils don’t win any of their Stanley cups without him as captain.

It’s Scott Stevens. It was his team while he was here. Niedermayer was incredible in his own right, but Stevens was captain and guy that other teams had to look out for. Stevens and Brodeur are the two cornerstones and reason for the devils entire identity for success.
