I think Wolf/Vladar/Cooley/Murphy/Ignatjew/Yegorov/Zarubin/Chechelev/Sergeiyev gives a team that is rebuilding plenty of competition over the next several seasons. I could see a reason to get a veteran goalie if we had not picked up Cooley, but I think the Flames will.end up carrying 3 goalies on their main roster for too many games this season to begin with to justify going out and picking up another one.

MAF is old now and wouldnt be a good fit. Great goalie, but we are pushing for youth.
Reimer….eh, ok. Average usually.
Elvis id love, but thats nkt the direction we are headed.

Might just as well offer sheet Jeremy Swayman (if possible) if we’re going the “veteran” route

How about no

If the Flames were able to move on from Vladar and could sign a reliable 1B or backup goalie I could see value in it. With that said, I don’t think anyone wants Vladar’s contract ATM and I don’t think any available goalies really fit into that reliable 1B or backup category.

I’d rather roll with what have have now. We don’t need a veteran goalie unless we get rid of Vladar. I don’t think the expectations are that high this season

Why on earth would the Flames trade Markstrom, then go and find another vet guy to replace him?

Yeah no
Hi_Im_Flabber
I get the idea here, bring in someone who can handle a starter’s workload. However unless Vladar is going the other way this makes no sense
