It felt nice to have a sliver of joy again

  2. DH28Hockey

Ersson looked phenomenal, the rest of the team ranged from OK to rusty. But hey, Win Bear is back and that’s all that really matters

  3. Other-Oil-5035

Love this team! Love you all! Excited for what’s to come 🧡🖤

  4. Magoatt_TheWhite

Only one thing missing from tonight; my aunt passed away in August of 2023. She was a massive Flyers fan; I only wish she’d been able to see Michkov make his debut.

  5. GivesAwayTwitchStuff

Lots of promise showing tonight; let’s hope it keeps going.

  6. EmoGothPunk

    EMPTY BOTTLES AND EMPTY PROMISES!

Edit: Are there people here who get the reference? That’d be cool.

  7. Magoatt_TheWhite

Curious to see how Fedotov does tomorrow; this is technically his first official NHL start in my opinion. Last year was a wash and he was thrown into an awful situation.

  8. Bhut_Jolokia400

    Beautiful start to the season.

Question who can provide the stat of most overtime games since the shootout inception?

  9. olreliable3

Michkov showed some flashes tonight. He will get his first point tomorrow

First time I felt truly alive as a Flyers fan in 2 years

  11. BanDelayEnt

I’m still tingling. Vancouver won the West last season with 109 points. That’s a good damn team and we beat ’em in their barn.

  12. TrustTheFriendship

I’m sure I’m not the only 4 for 4 Philly fan who REALLY needed that after the Phillies’ collapse. Thank you, Flyers.

    CONS:

We need better faceoffs. Either Canucks won them straight, or there was a scramble and we were lucky the puck got to a Flyers’ tape.

Thought the offensive boardplay was a bit sloppy, but first game of the season.

    PROS:

Powerplay looked MUCH better, nice tape to tape passes with great scoring chances but the puck didn’t bounce the right way on most of them.

Michkov having fun out there, while playing good defensively. For example keeping up with Hughes on the blue line to block his shot.

Ersson was solid both in regular and the shootout.

  14. JazzIceman

Man what a great time. BTW buddy in the Hathaway jersey behind Philly bench I’m giving you credit for his assist😂

  15. Would very much like to hear « Foerster scores on the power play » again and again and again this year!!! 🔥

  16. Streetkillz13

God I hope one of Fedotov or Kolosov can take some games from Errson. He’s such a good goalie, but last year they ran him into the ground. After not playing the first month, he finished in the top half of the league in starts.

  17. nittygritty84

Ersson, if managed properly, is the real deal. Lots of positive signs here, but I can already tell that my main hope for the season is that Beezer finds that consistency. When he’s good he’s great, and when he disappears I feel like I was kidding myself about how good he was. Rooting for him.

  18. Free-Supermarket-516

I heard somebody say « you do your job and I’ll do mine » but I missed who said it to who. Anybody catch that?

  19. Evrytimeweslay

Yeah boys! Didn’t make it to the end but the highlights didn’t disappoint!

  20. Key-Football-7612

What time did the game end? I fell asleep (im in Pennsylvania)

  21. Express_Jellyfish_28

Excellent shootout for the win! Go Flyers!

  22. mscheinfeld

Great win boys let’s pile these dubs

  23. blackoutbrig

i accidentally fell asleep during second intermission and had a very realistic dream that we lost 4-1. waking up to this thread is beautiful 🥲

  24. Nochtilus

Caught up on the game. That Canucks goal was very Flyera but overall they looked like a young talented team. Can’t wait to see these guys grow over the season.
