They're overcomplicating things. It needs a simpler approach. And then, in the third, it's like, come on guys… I get it, it's only the third game, but do we really need this kind of frustration every autumn? Maybe this is just who Edmonton is—terrible starts leading to better outcomes in the end. So, take your time, give up another 20 games, and then finally bring the Cup home.
I’ve stopped caring at this point. I’m so tired and frustrated with this. Our season may as well be over. I hate everyone on this team and demand they be removed immediately. Disgraceful franchise right now.
I was arguing with dozens of delusional flames fans on Facebook who seemed to think Perry was interfering with Vladar.
Also i disagree on the lines, the whole second half of the game they were just deflated by how all the calls went.
Excellent run-down tonight Patrick!!
Calgary better than expected. Beat Vancouver. Hard working team. Physical. Nurse plays better when he's physical. Too bad he doesn't do that more often. Didn't like the call on Perry for goalie interference. Rather have Stecher on defense than Emberson. I think Emberson needs more time in the minors. In the meantime, I'd like to have more of a veteran presence on right shot defense. Shattenkirk still out there. But why hasn't he been signed? He'll be 36 in January. Probably slowed down a little too, but he's still a veteran. I'd put him in next Nurse instead of Dermott. They traded Ceci for cap flexibility. If you wait until trade deadline to use that money you might be a wild card team. This start should be just as concerning, or even more so, than last year's bad start. Why? Can you count on having a 16-game winning streak to jump you up to the top of the standings? Too good a team not to make the playoffs. They're out of sync. They'll get going. But win the Cup? That's something else again. By the way, just found out via NHL Network than Stan Bowman is called Stan after 'Stanley Cup'. Don't think his middle name is Cup.
Jeff Skinner was the best Oiler tonight, Connor looks lost in the Dzone again in general looks lost all over the ice, Drai with too many turnovers again at the OZone blue, Stu with brutal rebound control, zero pushback from any oilers for the Backlund slash on Stu. By how goaltender interference has been called in the past that’s not goalie interference, that call is how international goalie interference is called in the blue paint no goal if that’s the new standard I’m fine with it but we all know next week it will be a different standard again
Bye bye Knoblauch 👋
Considering that Calgary hit skinner on the back of the leg, I would assume Perry did something to their goalie. Whether it was at that moment or not I dont know.
Anyways. Jeff Skinner and Hyman need to be on Mcdavids line. 2 good goal scorers who kniw where to go to on the ice with the best passer in the league. It makes sense. Leave it Knoblauch
Dissapointed they did get into a fight with dude who his stu skinner. Thats weak.
It’s Nurse, Ceci had 3yrs to learn and cover Nurses mistakes. Should have kept Ceci and Broberg and traded Bouchard since we can’t probably afford to keep him next season, could have gotten a lot for Bouchard!!!!
Besides the officiating being bush league the team lacks consistent effort. Pathetic that no one came to Skinners defense after the cheap shot. While watching highlights later I saw Klim Shady drop a duck for a cross check. That is severely missing. Flames had a team effort. Oil had individual efforts. Nurse is the constant in poor defensive play. Thanks for the update
Hi Patrick and all Oilers from Germany! Yes I was so silly to stand up at 2 am to watch my team. It was hard to watch this match again. Noone of the staff seems to have a solution for the disaster and change wild the lines in order to make a lucky punch! Horror!!! Good, it looked a bit faster, we went in the lead, but than the flames went in more action and fouling, and from our side finished everything. That Perry was the best in this situation speaks for itself. I think there are different mistakes made in and by the staff, sorry. It looked like playing against the staff or somebody higher. Never seen the team so horrible in passing, shooting and stick handling over three games. So search and find it quick, otherwise it is over with dreaming… . Patrick I am sorry, but it seems to be a big problem inside! Cheers from Germany feeling very sad…😢😢
You’ve been a good host and good at reviewing the games, I didn’t see your video for after the Chicago game, however in your video after the 6-0 loss to Winnipeg, you said the Oilers need to come out flying and win 7-1 7-2, which I thought at the time was one of the rare times you said something stupid, now add a loss to Calgary, how about the oilers just play 60 minutes, how about the oilers play some defending, forget about 7-1 games, how about winning one game, last time I checked, whether you win 3-2 or 7-2, doesn’t make a friggin difference, a W is a W, a L is a L, great video tonight though 👍
In Nurses defence (no pun intended 😅) he’s played 3 games with 3 different partners, come on, nobody can do that, 15-3 tells the story
It's only my second year of watching hockey regularly, but I still have some thoughts about the current situation. For me it looks like this team lacks personality. They give up easily and they play like they were not motivated. Maybe it's just a false impression. I've also thought that maybe they do it on purpose. Like they wanted to recreate the last season. Knowing how superstitious some of the player's are I wouldn't be very surprised. Stay safe and healthy guys, greetings from Poland
i didn't catch the game yet so just going by your take – is the problem essentially McD and Drai? nobody wants to be overly harsh but if the engine is not running, the car doesn't move. is that what you are thinking?
There will be up's + down's throughout the season The only goal is ta make The Playoffs
All I can say they need new goalies and now
No Josh Brown. He may be physical but his positional play is atrocious!
That's what happens when you hire a gm like stan bowman this team is to old no grit like what have stan and jeff got done with this team
Forget what happened last year let move on
…………HOW BOUT THEM COILERS?
YAAARR

This is a Bad News, Good News report. Bad News. We Lost. For a team with this much firepower we had little (granted on a back to back but still, one goal). Don't talk to me about Emberson out, Stecher in or the Defense (what little there was). Stu let in 3 (plus an empty netter). The Good News. We blocked more than single digit shots. We won more faceoffs. We didn't let in 6, just the 4 and none of those were PP (so our PK got it right on 3 shots, our PP didn't score on the one chance they had). Again, didn't watch the game, I have physical surgery on my eyes tomorrow and won't be able to do anymore stats for some time. Take care all. So the reason I haven't been able to watch the games is that, SURPRISE, my eyes need surgery and the same was true with this game. Listening to the game is fine but you do miss a lot.
Mistake getting rid of Ceci McLeod foegol broberg holloway
