Les pingouins ont du mal à prendre leur envol tôt cette saison

  1. Fun fact: All the penguin species we know today are not really penguins!

They are part of the part of the Spheniscidae family, and are only called penguins because they resemble the great auk, Pinguinus impennis , which went extinct in the 19th century.

  2. I was going to call BS on the Jarry move, but then see he only played a few minutes 10 days ago. So yeah, this isn't some scheme to bypass waivers.

  3. Pittsburgh penguins have been one of my least favorite teams since 1991. The Dallas Stars are also one of my least favorite teams due to abandoning Minnesota for texas. I love watching both teams lose.

  4. The Erik Karlsson trade 2.0 couldn't have honestly worked out better for the sharks. Got rid of 10 million dollars, got a grade A defensive prospect, and got Granlund who has been a PPG forward for the sharks. Even if he wins a Norris in Pittsburgh it won't change anything about the trade for the sharks.

  5. Pittsburgh seems to be in trouble. There is still talent on this team, albeit a little on the old side. But at some point, teams like Detroit and Ottawa are going to be moving up. That's not good news for the Pens. Last year at this time, I thought both Pittsburgh and Washington were in similar situations. The Caps seems to be better off than the Pens at this point. If the goaltending continues to be a problem, then Pittsburgh will be below the playoff line.

  6. The reality is that Crosby/Malkin/Letang/Karlsson is not a good enough core to win with. They've all accomplished great things, and have nothing left to prove, but in 2024 they are old, soft, and injury-prone. They haven't won a playoff series in 6 seasons

  7. That’s problem they keep trying to fly when they really need to learn how to swim differently

  8. I think the penguins need a new coach, Mike Sullivan has been a phenomenal coach for years, but I don’t think his coaching is fit anymore

  9. Team is top on the expected goals on both ends of the ice. Same issue as last season, lacking defensive play. Not just that the defense makes idiotically risky plays on the offensive blue line, but there is no collective defensive effort when play goes to own end. Just change the style of play to fit the aging team. Head coach change should be done soon as possible. Should have been done already last year. That is if the team is still in "win one more time" mode.

  10. Unlike the Caps, Pittsburgh did not revamp their team in the off-season. So they just got another year older and slower so it's no wonder they are again struggling.

  11. This team has far surpassed and outlasted their viability. Now it's just sad watching them grow old together.

  12. Blomqvist has been pretty impressive its honestly sad to see the team in front of him allow 50 shots on goal knowing that they can do so much more.

  13. Dubas is just a poor GM. Look at all the guys he’s added. At best you could say 2-3 of the acquisitions have been just decent.

  14. I saw a curious list of statistics that showed Crosby is about the 9th best player for the Penguins this season by most metrics, and that he's terrible 5v5. Funny how none of these statistics get mentioned. The facts just don't line up with the narrative, do they? I bet he gets voted the best player again, no matter what the facts are.

  15. Pens fan here, well this is after the loss to Vancouver and to be completely honest I think that coach Sullivan’s years in Pittsburgh needs to come to an end and this defense needs to be fixed it is terrible to watch.

  16. Lol they got Karlsson (wirst defensive player) and then the next year got an old matt gryzlek who is terrible… all after "prioritizing" getting younger

  17. I said this a while ago, this franchise set itself back by who knows how long by chasing a cup when the window was painted and nailed shut on them. Age, cap and salary problems. They have no picks and the pipeline cabinet is empty. My Pens are in huge trouble. This is what happens when you say "Well, we owe this player for the loyalty they've showed the franchise. So we have to keep trying instead of rebuilding." The only thing you owe any player is the salary you promised them. Love Sid, but he's put this team in a weird limbo until he retires.

  18. I have only been watching them because of Pulju. What can I say ? Karlsson is BRUTAL, 87 seems disinterested, they are constantly outshot & outscored. They are SLOW. Definitely a lottery team and trending down…

  19. Dubas doomed the Penguins when he brought in Karlsson, who is an absolute turnover machine, to a roster that doesn't need another aging high risk defenceman with an albatross of a contract. I just have a hard time trying to think that with all the holes in the Pittsburgh roster that the immediate need to was throw away all their cap space for another version of Letang, but with a worse cap hit. Before they got Karlsson, Pittsburgh was already bordering on becoming a NHL alumni team. At this point they might as well bring back Jagr and Mario Lemieux, and go all in on the nostalgia. The Jarry contract wasn't that great either, but at least you can give them the benefit of the doubt that at the time there was an elite goaltending shortage, but it was still a gross overpayment that they couldn't afford. I don't think Pittsburgh can start to fix things without firing Dubas and hiring a GM with a clear mandate not to turn the roster into a senior's home.
