Gonna be a great burgh sports moment. And yes, he's gonna try to do some impossible things, but every once in a while great players do exactly that. Talk about fired up!
As a Pens fan since 1989, Malkin is my favorite player. I believe he's one of the most under-rated players ever. Had he not missed so many games with injuries, I believe he'd have at least 1500 points. Until McDavid and Draisaitl played the mandatory 500 games to be acknowledged, he was 2nd only to Sid in points per game. Only 3 players have more point per game seasons under their belt. Another interesting stat….in almost 200 games with Sid out of the lineup, he has a higher points per game than Sid playing in his place on the top line.
It would be fitting that if Geno scores his 500th goal tonight, and Sid gets the assist which would be his 1600th career point.

Man Geno deserves this at home!!! I really hope his family is there for this . I also hope Pens fans get to witness history.
In his first four games last year, Geno had 7 points. So this is nothing new. He played very well early in the season. The concern with him isn't early, it's come mid season. That's where he disappeared in many ways, especially in the goal scoring department. At his age, I don't expect this play to continue. But with Sid being MIA the first 4 games, they certainly need him.

I’ve always had a slight soft spot for Geno over Sid. It could be that we have the same birthday, or it could be that I think we have similar personalities. Either way I love the guy! Most underrated superstar of all time. Top 100? Top 20 all time.

I agree something looked off with Sid, but isn't this ignoring the obvious? Sid is one point away from 1,600 and eight goals away from 600. As you mentioned earlier in the episode, him not playing at his best tends to happen as he approaches those milestones. Isn't it likely to at least be playing a part right now?
It gives me a flashback to last year when we've discussed or Geno should move to wing. The man found another gear to start the season with. Love to see the way he's playing right now. Go get that milestone in Pittsburgh!!

Dk, after that exciting game tonight I didn't know which question to ask. Everyone will probably ask about why Jarry can't get his head into the game or stop some easy shots, but I want to know what's happening with Karlesson? He seems lazidazicle or like he's in slowmotion or lost, especially on 3 of the goals or the high risk shots he should have stopped.
