Now that is what I call DUBAS MAGIC! Blake Lizotte is Mr. Kyle Dubas GM and President's best signing. Lizotte hounding Tavares for the puck before the goal is DUBAS MAGIC! What a trade by GM Mr. Kyle Dubas of Jake Guentzel for Michael Bunting. As the puck went to Bunting to the back of the goal for the game winner all I could think of is DUBAS MAGIC! Sidney Crosby's assist tied Gordie Howe for 5th all time with one franchise. Remember when Mr. Dubas signed Sid to another 2 year deal. The 2 year 87 deal is oozing of DUBAS MAGIC! In conclusion Rakell's opening goal was assisted by Kyle Dubas UFA signing Grzelcyk and trade Kevin Hayes. DUBAS MAGIC owned the Leafs tonight. The reason the Pens won because the Pens scored 2 powerplay goals followed by 2 shorthanded goals while the Leafs scored only one pp goal. That's not a winner.

Leafs have been dysfunctional since the start of the season and apart from a handful of games, they've been playing badly even though they've won their fair share of them because the opponent was worse, or the core four went superhero mode. Special teams have been bad, bottom six contributes nothing to offense, and the energy they gave the team in the first few games has seemed to have petered out. Berube's lines are sometimes baffling as well. The bright spot on this team is the outstanding goaltending tandem and the responsible 5v5 defense, even if they're not perfect. And of course the core four are good when they feel like it or aren't shut down by being smothered like Washington did to them the other night. The Leafs will continue to win more than they lose but they need to get their act together if they want to go more than one round in the playoffs.
