I'm glad I don't pay for NHL services anymore. They need to fix their officiating and start giving their refs some accountability. Yesterday's game was bad enough but it also happened in the playoffs.
Time to update your rule books, yesterday was an embarrassment.
they need to get rid of the whole "well the ref thought about blowing the whistle so the play stops there" rule. Hockey players are told from a young age to play to the whistle, not to play to what the ref is thinking in his head.
That intent to blow rule is the worst rule in the book. It's impossible to be consistent with a rule that's based purely in the mind of a single ref.
I guess the NHL accidentally forgot to add in the camera angle showing the puck crossing the goal line in this video as well as in the shorter highlight video. They also just so happened to keep in the voice clip of the announcer saying that the puck didn't go in the net before he saw the other camera angle. Odd
