I live in the UK and could see from here the amount of missed calls the refs made. Were there bets made before the game? If not then these refs need to be sent back to peewee and learn what officiating means as they clearly got this game totally wrong. I am not a leafs fan but they were totally screwed by the refs of that there is no doubt.

The Leafs need to think with their heads, not their muscles. As soon as they get scored on, they stop playing hockey and start wrestling, and that doesn't do them any credit.

NHL refs are just complete garbage at this point. I'd rather have the players call their own penalties as it would at least be much fairer because, if a player didn't call his own penalty, there would be a way to bring him back in line. I've started to propose that, if a player/team really wanted to complain about a call, they could challenge the refs to a fight and the refs could pick which of the four would take the challenge. I hope everyone knows that most refs played upto and even in the NHL, so it's not like they don't know how to fight. lol
I'm not saying the Leafs deserved to win this game because they actually didn't play well a lot of the time; however, the number of bad calls and non-calls that hurt the Leafs was astounding and not the only time. It's like the refs just decide who they want to win and work to make it happen and it's not just the Leafs who suffer from this favouritism; I've seen other non-Leafs games that were just as astrocious and, as far as I can see, there is no recourse to keep the refs from doing exactly as I described above, put their thumb on the scale, so to speak.

A great game! So many highlights. Great announcing- cracked up how they ragged on the refs. Fabulous goal tending. Breakaways, pulled goalie, the whole bit. This is great entertainment.
Now the refs are NOT even trying to hide the fact they help American teams beat any Canadian team!

Please , from the Pittsburgh game that's on now as I type this , early 2nd period, 17 mins left in the period , load the Frank Sinatra chat that they laugh about, I'd like to listen to that often as I get old, it was great.
The Leafs have terrible execution of their chances… And poor game discipline. Lots of unjustified penalties.
