I thought they did better I guess. I know they played better.
This roster is not this bad. There is only one explanation for the Wings only being able to breakout by wrapping the puck around the boards, where Patrick Kane is terrible. There's only one explanation for so many basic aspects of their game being bad, and so many players struggling to contribute positively. A rising tide lifts all boats, but Lalonde has these boats out in the desert.
And Brian, that toxic hockey bro culture that tells you that a slap shot on a breakaway or trying to do the Michigan is "disrespect" is completely illogical, get that out of your head
Kane said in an interview after a few games back, there's no excitement. Kane is one of the most exciting players to watch when he's given opportunity, but Lalondes style of coaching has this team skating on eggshells. So sad to see Kane wasted as such. And he's not the only player with talent being wasted…

When WSH scored on PHI's empty net in a tie game situation in April 2024, the Wings knew that it had happened and that their shootout win that night had no meaning. They knew ALL the previous huge comeback wins ended up having no meaning. That empty net goal that broke a tie in a different city that had nothing to do with the Wings game, is something that deflated the team to this very day in the same year of 2024. Theres zero belief.

Yzerman failed this team this off season. Lalonde failed this team since last March when they had the long losing streak.
If Lalonde is still coach on January 2, we will not be in the playoffs this season.
I didn't even get frustrated anymore.. I just shake my head and laugh every 10 seconds. I'll admit it. Half the time I'm rooting for the other team so we can get one step closer to firings this clown show coaching staff.

I can no longer watch. I’ve been following faithfully, but I got to take a break. Too frustrating. It’s the hope that kills you.
I cannot defend Stevie any longer. He should’ve fired the coach last year during the losing streak. I can’t believe Lalonde is still the coach. I can’t take it any longer. Getting outshot two to one every single game. They can’t break out of their own zone. They can’t get any offense going because they’re too tired defending 3/4 of the game. Goalies being left hung out to dry. I thought the focus was defense this year? There is no defense. Fans have to stop going to the games and start booing the hell out of this team. And why isn’t Chris Ilich getting any flack? Allowing a garbage patch on the iconic jersey was one thing, but just watching this team die is another. People need to be fired now!
I’ve been apathetic. It took me a few weeks of this coaching system for me to not care. I knew it would never start working and I hate Derek Lalonde for it. I think he’s actually making our players worse, that’s a good reason to get rid of him. I don’t watch any other sport though, so I’m a fan of more than one hockey team.

Lost interest a few weeks ago. I can't see calling certain players out anymore. If that player can't see what they are not doing, calling them out is not going to help. Go back to focusing on bad defense and lack luster offense and leave it at that. Coaching? Again, harping on that is not going to help. High draft pick? Maybe we can get one good player but then again maybe another 4th line center. Good luck guys, either way it will take years for that pick to be brought up. 🏒😓
