9:35 DK.. come on. The "easy way out"? This isn't one season of failure… we're now 7 YEARS without any playoff success/no playoffs. Before you know it we will be talking about a decade since they've won anything. This isn't a knee jerk reaction. The guy has lost the team. Doesn't mean he's a bad coach
Sullivan needs to go, but not because he is a bad coach. It is because the team has tuned him out. It would be their fault, not his. That is part of the life of a NHL coach.
Mike sullivan needs to go,,5 years ago he should have gone, kevin constitiane would have won with thise teams..he doesnt care anymore, the team never changes, why trade ryan reeves, or those two d man to the blues years ago, i know that one is a lil out there but..thiw goes vack to whats his name from Carolina trading away all our pick for guys and then trading the guys he got awaya month later…mike sullivan though is the big issue,,karlsson is a bum too,

Considering in two seasons now Dubas has made one move to actually help the team (Eller) and every other move has backfired tremendously, I wouldn’t put much hope in the worst GM in hockey fixing much
The only reason they beat Washington was because Washington played probably their worst game of the season. Let's face it, this is the cycle of once great hockey teams…they all (other than maybe the Bruins) have their down years (eg. Kings, Blackhawks) and now its our turn…we will be like this for 3-5 years

This is what the end looks like. It’s not pretty. Soon enough Sid will rather be surrounded by young energetic guys than this group of paycheck cashers. Suck it up because we’re about to see rock bottom. Fingers crossed we land a top pick in the draft that can move in with Sid while he’s learning the ropes.

While this ain't all on Sullivan, I disagree with DK…..I sometimes think he's got to tip toe around this topic because he has to interact with Sully. Once again, everyone chooses to look at little windows of this season, but this has been tracking like this for years. Sullivan couldn't get this team up two years ago to beat Chicago or Columbus to get into the playoffs. He needs to be let go….and once again, he is working with an awful team. Then there's Dubas, every trade or pick up he's made has failed on this team, he's continued to make deals for small and soft. Look at the past CUP winners, they are big and mean, like DK said, no team plays the Penguins and leaves with a bruise. When you look at the line up, line one has once again gone quiet…..why…..cause we expect O'Connor to play with Sid and he can't. The days of the two headed monster being able to drag along 3rd liners is over, they need help. But it doesn't matter when you have the defensemen you do here, whether they have checked out or have bad habits, this can be dealt with by coaching and has never. Letang has drove me nuts with his pinches and bad decisions for years, too much risk vesus reward. Letang made so many bad plays last night and didn't miss a shift, Karlsson never gets benched and does not know how to play positional defense, Graves was brutal and gets routinely walked, they try to get Petersson on the point for his 55mph shot, and he's their blue line tough guy…..yikes! Last night the goaltending was suspect but Ned stopped it from reaching 10-12 goals against. I was actually really disappointed that Sid signed on for more of this……..his cap friendly contract, he should ask to be traded to a contender, he deserves better then going thru this……he's getting humbled nightly! All I want for Xmas…..start with Sully, than REBUILD……..move Crosby too!

The fans understand the roster needs a complete makeover. The fans are also COMPLETELY SUPPORTIVE of whatever it takes to be more like the LA Kings or Caps (two older teams stocked w young talent) !!!
How can professional athletes just “give up”? How can they accept a salary without embarrassment and shame? What happens in these guys minds that allows this to happen? There’s no leadership on this team.

Remember a month ago when I said quit covering for Sullivan… 9:00 here you continue to do it when the proofs been in the pudding for the last 3 years at least. That’s how we know! I mean is this Mike Sullivans burners account with an AI Voice changer? I’m starting to get suspicious Mike I mean DK… one win doesn’t erase 3 years of sucking! This is like when you said don’t spend money on the pirates lazy…. It’s like when you know you’re wrong you just can’t handle ADMITTING IT! It’s time Mike I mean DK… and that doesn’t make it “the easy way.”
You call firing Sullivan and I quote “the easy way out” so I guess we should just cover for the guy forever like you… the easy way would be he coach the team into a winner. Not getting a new coach. Isn’t that his job?
No one covering the Penguins on YouTube seems to be realistic about how dire your personnel situation is. Most of your roster doesn't have positive trade value. You aren't getting back NHL players, and if you do it only extends the amount of time you will be terrible before you start rebuilding.
Sid is one the highest character stars ever to play the game. Should never have made an impossible promise to a guy like that.
I haven't seen every minute of every game, but they just look slow, right? Like, are we too old? Or just not at the same level of skating?

But guys, if most players ore core players are released, where will you get quality NHL-level players overnight? Not from anywhere.
Core players and leaders must take responsibility and motivate themselves, others and to show soul of sportsman.
Sullivan needs to give more icetime to those who want to play. There's nothing to lose, more to win. Anyway you lose if core players not play.
The way I see it is that the Pens are not a head case team. They are a SLOW/old team with little grit. So they can play ok vs the slower teams like the Caps but are behind the puck vs any of the faster teams and that just compounds as the game (and season) goes along. Just think how slow they will be near seasons end? Who do I blame? FSG and Dubus put this team together. Karlsson obviously needs to go..he should be the first to go. He was a very bad choice.
At what point does Sully say this team is hurting my resume? Or are they going to keep him until after the olympics. He is the U.S. hockey coach. Maybe they are thinking they have a coach of "that caliber " they can't let him go. Just throwing darts here. I have no good guess
To completely dump on Sullivan right now is just mind boggling to me. Don't get me wrong, I don't think he's working out with this team anymore, and a shakeup needs done.
Having said that, some of the reactions to him have been flat out disrespectful. This guy was brought in later in his first season, and got this team back to back championships right out of the gate. Something that hadn't been done in this league since 1992. And let's face it, it really hasn't been done since. Tampa's back to back doesn't count… Let's be real here.
As a long time fan, I'm not happy right now either. But Sullivan isn't THE only issue. And at this point, who's going to replace him?
I don't think he's the guy we need behind the bench anymore, but the total lack of respect to the guy isn't deserved.

I LOVE the idea of trading everyone but Crosby. This is something Dubas must do if this team is every going to get better. It is one thing to say it, it is something totally different to actually do it.Please make some changes.

Hey DK I've always been a Coach Sully guy I mean the guy only brought home 2 of the best summers of my life back to back but I watched as the announcers were all speechless at the end of the first period and could only muster up only Syd or Mario could turn this around… I'm like what about the coach???!!!… it looked like a game at a rec center last night with Father McGillicutty refereeing with bleachers with no energy in those stands…. is it time to get a firework spark of a new head coach… am I wrong for asking this
Sullivan is not the only one who needs to go. The whole defense is shit. They holding onto Letang. While I love both of them, it's long past time for change. And again, they ain't the only ones who need to go!
