Please keep Buffalo 32nd until further notice. We are pretty much an AHL franchise at this point. If the owner would be hands off just write checks we might have a chance. The GM's have just been yes men with no backbone to tell Terry to shove it. The new young guys are thrown to the wolves without the chance to develop in Rochester because they are supposed to save this team immediately.

My only explanation for Florida is that they don’t care about Vancouver and Calgary and thus didn’t show up for either game. The game I think they will show up for is Monday night with the cup final rematch against the oilers. I’m bringing out the popcorn for that one.
Granted I didn’t watch the Vancouver game but they didn’t seem to be trying to hard against the flames.

Jets being 9th is a good spot. The power rankings don't reflect just the standings, but the current team play and the jets haven't shown up every game recently.
So, the "Island of Misfit Toys" are #1 on Shannon's weekly Power Rankings. The question now is, how many people – outside of Caps fans – are willing to pick them for the Cup? Yea… I didn't think so.

The Rangers won the Presidents Trophy last season and on paper should be better this season. Drury sold their heart and soul (players) for cap space. Heart, soul, and drive wins a lot more games than cap space. This job is supposed to be fun and the Rangers are defeated before they get on the ice. Big contracts are as much handcuffs on a team as they are a noose to the player if they aren’t meeting expectations. The moves weren’t wrong; the methods were downright disrespectful, and the tide won’t turn until camaraderie is restored in the locker room.

Grubauer has proven he should not be playing consecutive games…unless it's the playoffs? I don't get it but i expected the Kraken to stay in place instead of move up. I think Grubauer is a big source of the issues. The team consistently doesn't play the same in front of him.

Only thing Caps can be dinged for is their shooting percentage likely being unsustainable, but their defense is so good and, oh yeah, still doing this without Ovechkin. Devils are scary because their performance on both sides of the puck is so strong but they haven't gone on a sustained streak yet. Fully admit, though, Tampa may be who's beginning to scare me more and more, won't be shocked if they're at the top of the Atlantic when all's said and done.
