Some troubling trends creeping in for these jets.
1. Slow sleepy starts.
2. Sub par nhl d core. Pionk constantly makes blunders in his own end and demelo is not a #2. A total lack of a decent 3rd pairing without miller in the lineup. Won’t win with this core as it’s currently constructed.
3. Wish they could finally solve the 2c problem. 7 is a decent player but but is better suited to a 4th line role.
4. Lack of true depth scoring. 4th line adds absolutely nothing offensively besides iafallo. Barron hasn’t scored a goal at even strength all year.
5. The metrics at 5v5 are not pretty lately. Relying on that pp way too much
The talent level is not fraudulent but the effort sure seemed to be. Looks like the second half slump has arrived early this year.
I'd rather the team play this way now than later and going into post season.
