The Miller-Pettersson situation is crazy
Thanks, for the great insight! I live out of the country and I like to try and keep up to date with the Canucks. I feel that this year I have no idea where this team came from, there are so many new guys, and many are doing great. I would love to see a video of who this years team is, where they came from, and where there are going….
If you can….
thanks again for all.
This definitely is not the same team as last year. If anything it has a lot to do with the defense. Zadorov was able to protect star players and Cole to an extent. Petey needs a Wilson type player on his line. There is no one to protect players from being targeted by other teams. No deterrant. And the defense sucks eggs. As a team it is still on the small side for a playoff team. Petey is one of the more frail looking players in the league with a big contract. But has no protection. Funny way to treat your investment. Johnny Hockey was a superstar with towers around him. Once gone he could not perform as well. Petey has never had that luxury and had been crosschecked to the ice with no pushback on many occasions. And am sure it pisses a guy off like Miller who hates pacifism. Especially when big rugged teams come to town with violence on their minds. The smaller players tend to retreat and disappear. Back off and become perimeter players. At which point I would not doubt Miller feels he is the only tough guy on the team and has to bring the toughness by himself. And Quin carries the main load. Problem is is that there are just one or two tough guys who can play.Jeonnot was a player who might have filled that role. To late now. There is no one to be got. Not sure how this plays out, but it seems pretty hard to fix at this point. This team is so close, but needs two more players who can play. Fill that void.
No matter how much you hate msm its not enough these people have sold out
Man Vancouver had fumbled some good hockey players
I think the owner, coach, and both players sit down and the owner says "If both these players can't figure it out there gone. If the head coach can't figure it out your gone. Or all 3 of yous are gone
It usually isnt a big deal when its a plug not getting along with someone.
When its two of your top forwards that are supposed to be leading the team and its affecting the players play, it becomes more of an issue and gets more attention.
Thank you. This is a nothing burger. This is just media trying to make something out of nothing.
They figure if they stir the pot hard enough they might create something to generate some ad revenue, that is the real story here.
How about we bring back the lotto line and get a new #2 center. Put best players together on #1 line. Petey is upset cause his best times was with lotto line and now that him and Miller are centers. Miller gets all the good players with him and Petey gets new line mates all the time. Miller and Petey both have chemistry with Brock , but Miller gets his as a steady line mate whole time. Get to build something. Petey hasn't had that. Put the lotto line back together and magic will fly. Rebuild second line. 3rd line can be Blug, Dak, and Gar.
Petey is on route to a 100 point season (elite seasonal standard)…and JT should reach 80+ points…perhaps closer to 100 if not for his hissy-fit leave of absence. What is the problem? JT (and Tocchet for that matter) need to realize that Petey will never be a Peter Forsberg or Esa Tikkanen dirty-area-type Euro forward.
Tochett is the problem
"All I know is that if we stick together and play as a team, everything will be alright"
Not to pile on, and maybe it’s a wee bit early to call the Tocchet experiment over, but I did suggest that ‘Nucks fans should enjoy the ‘23-24 season while it lasts because they played well above their pay grade last season. Anyway, it’s not looking good now. Called it. 🫤
It’s drama and gossip. A lot of people love that stuff now a days. That’s why people are talking about it, and that’s why it hasn’t died down
I cannot make a comment, as there are too many funny takes on this already, your followers are great…..
Star players playing defensive hockey is good but it's stifling what made star players get to be star players. Tocchet is destroying star players prospects for great hockey in their prime my making them stop doing what made them who they are.
Sports media are not journalist’s. Their goal is to simply generate clicks, and what better way to do that than creating or exacerbating conflict.
i think its ironic people pays to go to hockey games to escape parts of their day-to-day lives.. and then they go to this 20 million dollar drama show. how bad could it be really. figure it out.
Miller is a headcase and Petey is soft. Miller probably chirped Petey and here we are.
Confirmed THG Exclusive:
"Pettersson accuses Miller of setting his car on fire following game."

This is not as bad as the media is making out to be. Petty and Miller are fine. Swedish players are notoriously calm and consistent, where North American player tend to wear their hearts on their sleeves, and way more emotional. These two personalities will clash when poop hits the fan. They both want to win, they are both ultra competitive. I believe that once they start to put a string of wins together, things will smooth out. This adversity is good for the team.
Shannon, you've been out of the regular workforce too long. There is zero tolerance for honesty in the workplace now. It's night and day even compared with five years ago.
Stop talking about miller and pettersson that's just a diversion from focusing on how bad this team SUCKS. Trade them for more Canadians or keep losing.
Trade the entire Rangers team to Vancouver, in return all Canucks now are on the Rangers team.
Miller did come out, it's on gloves channel. Good interview there
Yes finally some common sense with a streamer thank you! Getting real tired of the media and fans blowing this up like they know what happens when the camera is off. The media and fans are gonna drive these guy's out of Vancouver… so dramatic
Petey saying theres no issues after Toc and Hughes said otherwise and they need to work through it IS the problem. Miller/Toc hashed it out in the past, like hockey players. Petey has too much Swedish ego to do that
petterson's reaction says all you need to know. miller is a hockey player. Pee Wee is an ouch cousion. trade em both
Petey will fix it. He's swedish and knows how to handle egoes.
So cancel the parade that was planned all summer by Canuck fans?
Messy divorces? Maybe the Canucks need a marriage counselor.
I love your channel.
A video on the worst team and player breakups would be neat
Sadly I have both of these clowns in my hockey pool, but I get a chance to dump them in Jan. and draft a couple of hockey players.
ohhhhh so THIS is why the Canucks picked that other Elias Pettersson….just in case htey need to do a little…a little switcharoo… or use him as a scape goat…
The vancouver media asks the same questions over and over and over again then cry when a player calls their crap. You arnt that important Vancouver media sorry.
** except THG, he's the boss 😅
There is a concerted effort by the van media to drive Pettey out of the market.
It's fine if they don't get along. Like you said it's a lot of different personalities in a locker room. It's if they don't respect each other is when it has to be handled.
Great opinion! Thanks!
It’s because JT took that leave, that’s what’s magnified this
100 % agree that the media have nothing else to talk about ..So they run with this headline ..
It seems clear that Miller wears on people over time, and Pettersson being a plug out there doesn’t help the problem.
It feels like the issues are spot issues that media drags on and on making it a large dilemma
We've heard through out this last summer that the Canucks Management wanted Petey to be harder to play against and that coaching staff were not the ones to do so. Miller being maybe the hardest competitor and one of if not the emotional leader of the team, was taking this on/ challenged with this as his to possibly try "Toughen" Elias up (Via hearsay from Freidman & Sekeres/Price & Donny/Dhali).
We don't always get the responses we expect when those types of actions are taken, When someone who is suppose to be "on our side" starts to be over critical and hard with "Tough Love", oppose to the usual showering of compliments and constant giving of flowers. Instead we see those who no longer feel valued go back into a hole and overthink everything even if that was not the intention in the first place.
Has this been looked through the lense of a mentorship/team mate coaching fail oppose to the "Drama alert they don't like each other"?
Where one see the potential of one to be "tough to play against" without being overpower and overly physical, example Pavel Datsyuk. Pavel wasn't exactly the biggest player on the ice but was able to be a pain defensively while having offensive skill. This at one point was the vision that Elias could be like this one day. Those skills were not as quick to develop as the offensive side has to this point in his career and we may just see that work relationship never recover from JT trying to pull the best out of Elias, Just not in the way that was most effective for him. They are different ages, coming from different parts in the world so this would be understandable with no fault to either of either of them.
With EP40 disappearing roughly around the time the contract kicked in this could of compounded around then just adding pressure from himself knowing how the media will somehow villainize him for taking such a large cap him and not being at the top in all areas of the ice, even though he was being paid as he should. Having it in the back of his mind that Miller and others want him to play a certain way resulted in more thinking on the ice vs just playing free and on instinct. You could see especially early on in this season, he would get chances and take that extra moment because he is overthinking and wanting to be perfect. The sooner the media stops talking about this, the sooner these things will get better… winning helps but so does not being reminded of it. They're both smart individuals, they are aware things are not going well and I am sure it doesn't help to be confronted with questions about it, if they knew the answers they would be going through those actions.
Elias is only what, 26? Science tells us the Adult Brain stops growing around Mid-20's.. He still growing to no fault of his own, my Christmas wish this year is to get some down time from local beat reporters to stop this and look at some of the other issues that are plaguing this team as these two and their "lack of production" is by far not the only things not getting them wins.
Maybe I got this all wrong though, thank you for reading.
Does everyone here like all of their coworkers ? Probably not lol I think people are reading too much into this
The fact that the "Mark Messier Award for Leadership" is an absolute joke, especially where he's the only guy who 'casts a vote'.
It almost seems like the media for certain sports in certain markets would rather see the team implode than succeed. I feel like I see that with the eagles being from around the Philly area.
Minnesota Wild are licking there chops.
