Sid does so many little things to facilitate puck possession and scoring opportunities. It’s always a pleasure to watch him work even when he’s not scoring goals.
The most important thing for the team right now is to continue playing with structure defensively. I know that Sid, Geno, Tanger, and Karl are accustomed to playing with a ton of offensive creativity, but moving to a style of play more like the Kings and less like the Pens of old is a move in the right direction to give them their best chance to make the playoffs given the players they have.

The Pens on the season rank 30th in the league at scoring chances and high danger scoring chances against at 5v5 … only San Jose and NYR are worse. (The Rangers are an absolute train wreck at the moment.) However, they have been at 18th in the league during this 7-2-1 stretch. While not great, that is an improvement … probably about as well as they can be expected to defend their end … and is at least giving them a chance.
There is no way #24 is going to see less time……if anything, because he's not the absolute worst defenseman in the league the last 10 games, he'll get an extention SMH 🙄 just joking DK
What's the over-under for Sid to break Gretzky's consecutive seasons with a point per game? Cause right now it doesn't look promising.
As a fan you want to see Sid score and score often. But you really watch the games you see all the things he does. No disrespect for what Rust and Rakell are doing, they are crafty around the net and great at the in tight goals, but their games are reliant on Crosby. Unlike with Guentzel, who was much more a sniper than Rust & Rakell, you also had someone who was much better and making plays and controling the puck, getting it back to 87 and had crazy chemistry with Sid. Over the last few games, we are seeing a greatly improved rakell who is playing his best hockey since arriving to the Pens. My only knock on Sid and Jagr said it best last year, be selfish, he needs to take the shot and not always pass, it would be different if he had bonified snipers but he doesn't…….Sid is the ultimate team guy, pass first before shooting, he needs to be selfish. But Sid is Sid, we've been so lucky to be able to watch this player dominate over the years, and my guess he ain't done.

Still expecting a 37 year old with a lot of mileage on him to play like he’s 26 is the definition of insanity but the penguins and their friendly media want to sell you that. Hes doing fantastic for someone of that age.
