  1. maybe all that needs to happen is for someone to start saying "grit" all the time like the other Detroit teams are doing

  2. It’s really nice to hear a no BS coach try and candy coat everything. It feels like there is accountability in the air, finally.

  3. listening to him, oh boy it's gonna be a rough rest of the year. announces that as expected he will be focusing on improving the defense. of the 32nd ranked offense in the league. nice hire Steve.

  4. Still a bit weird seeing Todd coaching us, I still think of those hated Sharks teams that he was in charge of. I do know for a fact he’s light years better than that sack of crap we were stuck with

  5. McLellan is articulate and straightforward. He has a lot of work to do, but he won't be handing us fans a line of hirse hockey.

  6. Welcome back to Detroit, Todd. Looking forward to seeing some change. You nailed a lot of important issues in just one game. Time for the boys to start climbing that mountain. LGRW ❤️

  7. Man, it so SO refreshing to hear from a different coach with this much intensity and words that actually describe what we just saw and makes sense. They were able to win the 3rd period, so progress was made, and growth was happening rapidly before our eyes. Todd has words to describe plays, performance and attitude that just sound SO much more competent than anything Lalonde could ever muster.

  8. I didnt hear about how our stats were super high and better than toronto. i didnt hear about looks.

I just heard a dude talk about where he wants to focus and how hes gonna get after it.

  9. 5 goals on 13 shots , cant win NHL hockey games like that sorry ya just can't , the goaltending on this team is HORRENDOUS period

  10. Todd McLellan is a great coach I really think he’ll get the most out of these guys

  11. Given that they're 5 games below 500, this isn't worth watching. Glad I quit watching the games or highlights a few weeks ago. Not worth the disappointment.

  12. Todd already looks pissed off at Helene lol, welcome back to Detroit 🤣

  13. These players are just collecting their paychecks at the moment showing up to work doing the bare minimum…at least they know how to skate for 60 minutes

  14. I’ve seen more grit today, more GIVE, more energy. We had more SOG than Toronto and lots of offensive zone time, which is good to see as well. One thing I’d like to see is if we can let go of some people. I couldn’t even count how many times tarasenko gave away the puck, or had poor passing/puck management. It’s bad.

  15. Omg i love this coach already one game in and he already sees the issues plans to address them most importantly to me he talked about how the team was almost mechanical just following structure and then not knowing what to do after i liked that he pointed out its not all about structure but about players instincts and doing what they thinks right and if he can get that message across not only will we get better the on ice product will be so much more fun to watch i hope coach mclellan can be the guy to take us to the next level and hopefully make playoffs i'll say next season i think this season is chalked at this point but we'll see but i really like his message and i think it'll help fix alot of our issues

  16. There was a guy named Jim Montgomery that was available not too long ago who is now the HC in St. Louis. That was the guy Yzerman should have went for. But he waited too long

  17. Coach is really smart and I completely agree with the iPads. I would get rid of them cus players need to be paying attention to the game and be invested in what's going on the ice
