Markstrom HAD to play this well, he simply must because he lost….we lost to the kid who should be the Devils next great goalie, our best since Marty …..YAROSLAV ASKAROV. As I have written before I being a Russian Hockey fan longer than a Devils fan and I have been that since day one in 1982. Askarov is a generational goaltender. Who I was screaming, begging for us to draft in 2020. Yet our LOSER, UNEDUCATED fan base was screaming at me, "We don't need him we have Blackie (Blackwood) Askarov being compared to Marty and we draft a dime a dozen winger from Sweden. Askarov who BY HIMSELF eliminated the greatest USA NTDT …THE JACK HUGHES TEAM in 2019 was drafted by the franchise that respects goaltending the most that being Nashville. Then after signing Saros to a huge deal decided to deal Askarov…AGAIN…we have a great chance to gain the piece that we need and Fitz has a great relationship with the management of Nashville, but NOPE. Instead of calling we trade a great young STAY AT HOME D MAN IN KEVIN BAHL… STUPIDLY TRADING OKHOTYUK (NOW ON MY BELOVED CSKA RED ARMY ) WE TRADE BAHL OF ALL PLAYERS FOR MARKSTROM, IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN NEMIC.BAHL is having a great season in Calgary…we needed BAHL. So we get Markstrom. NO GM IN THE LEAGUE WOULD TAKE MARKSTROM OVER ASKAROV……ENTER FITZ. So we lose to the great Askarov and Markstrom is seen throwing a fit off the ice. So Markstrom MUST …MUST have performances like this and he has played better than in Calgary last year. However Askarov should be a DEVIL for the next 15 years, but sadly when Askarov is reaching his peak…. Markstrom will be retired. Thankfully we drafted Mikhail Yegorov who has franchise goaltending abilities. I hope we draft LATVIA 'S Linus Feldbrrgs in June. Sadly our uneducated fan base probably has no clue who that is….

Marky won this game. The team has to stop its sloppy play. It hung Marky out to dry way too often.
