Opinion:Rangers could not trade their way out of the doldrums – they'd have to play their way out.
They may be doing just that, 11 out of 12 possible points this road trip.
A month ago, the Rangers would have lost last nights game… instead of a 3 goal outburst, a flat noneffort and giving up 2 more goals….never coming back 3x – and winning.
Opinion: We didn't need to trade for stars – we needed some new role players, and for our stars to play like stars. Role players often decide outcomes – and in Reilly Smith, Sam Carrick, Will Borgen that's what we now have.
The rangers were never as bad as they were playing , we can compete with every team in the league in regular season terms , the problem is as a fan how do I know this team won't decide to phone it in again when their feelings get hurt next? A few wins doest change anything the same players need to go i don't care if we win the next 10 in a row.
it's the hope that kills you. this team might be doing okay as of recent, but they don't have what it takes. strip the team for parts and salvage what you can.
Igor is provably the worst 11.5 million dollar goalie in the NHL.
The problem is they have to outcompete a lot of other teams now that are in striking distance of the wild card spots. Or currently sitting in the wild card spots like Ottawa and Columbus.
We MIGHT squeak into the playoffs as an 8th seed. If Drury tries buying at the deadline though, he's been smoking crack
They have a long way to come back to make the playoffs and its only going to get tougher as the season goes on. I would focus on making this a team a stronger competitor for next season. There's a lot more work to do in getting the right players and making sure they gel together.
He's obviously not going to be the next Gretzky, but is it me, or has the team been playing better since Matt Rempe was called back up?
There is hope, but as Valiquette said 2nd intermission, the Rangers need to go on a 9 game run starting now. The Rangers could have had wins vs Dallas and Colorado, which would have made the last 6 game a big part of the run they need.
If they want to win, they need to play top D every period of every game. It won't happen, otherwise.
