That being said, having Rantanen on your team makes your roster even more impressive and might just be what you need to get over the hump and get to the Cup Finals. Rantanen is overrated to the maximum level. Name me one thing he does at an elite level? His shot isn’t superior, his skating isn’t. Who have we ever seen him dangle? He’s not known for being a wizard with the puck finding teammates with crazy passes. He doesn’t hit anyone at 6’4 215. He clearly was the beneficiary of being with top top top tier talent in Colorado. He can’t drive his own line either. And what are his defensive abilities? Next to nonexistent? I mean come on. The Ava won this trade because Necas with Big Mac MacKinnon are gonna be zooming fast. And with the extra cap space they’ll get another big doggy to go woof with boys. We all know the Avs won. Don’t get it twisted.
